Gooddog is not what it claims to be. This is a broker site that makes false claims of representing ethically bred dogs, but features cross breeds and the infamously overbred doodles, puppy mills with multiple different breeds, and breeders that engage in poor breeding practices like breeding a small female to a large male toy dog. They claim they represent breeders that health test their dogs, yet the vast majority of dogs on there do not even have the basic health testing recommended by their breed club. Unfortunately, people seeking a puppy cannot just trust this site and have to do their own research to find a dog. Their idea of health testing is a genetic screening that does not even cover actual health problems of a breed like luxating patella, collapsing trachea, and so forth - I go above and BEYOND testing my dogs, not the bare minimum.

Hi Alexandra, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re glad that a member of our team has already been able to work through this with you and share more information about our Community Standards, Good Breeder Code of Ethics, and Policies, and how they may apply to your individual breeding program. As they mentioned, every breeder in our community must pass our screening process and meet or exceed our community standards, including our Breeder Code of Ethics and our minimum health testing requirements (linked below), before joining Good Dog. After breeders join Good Dog, we have routine check-ins to ensure continued compliance with these standards. -https://www.gooddog.com/standards-and-screening -https://www.gooddog.com/breeder-code-of-ethics -https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/good-dog-article-toc#good-dog-policies We take upholding our standards and policies incredibly seriously, and can assure you that our Compliance Team conducted a thorough review to ensure our standards and policies are applied consistently and fairly. This decision doesn't diminish the dedication and care you have for your dogs – we certainly appreciate the passion you have for your breeding program and the dogs in your care. We apologize that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, but we truly wish you the best with your breeding program moving forward. Warmly, The Good Dog Team

I found the perfect puppy for me, and it was only 47 miles away from home.

This is my first experience with Good Dog. I attempted to sell on my own for 3 months. I posted on Good Dog and my puppies all sold in 4 days.
