I contracted with this company this company to move items from Arkansas to Tennessee. I gave them detailed description (including measurements) of the items I needed moved moved. they were all large items -an entertainment center, a piano, a China hutch, 3 dressers, 2 full sized beds, 2 rocking chairs plus 50 boxes. They gave me an estimate of 780sq ft and based the price on that. When they showed up I was now told it was 1200 Sq ft of space and I had to pay an additional $1,500. When I called the company to ask how they could be 400 Sq ft off when I gave them detailed measurements of all the items I was told that they based their estimate on the ability to stack the items and that because i had "bulky" items the mover was not able to properly stack them. I understand this is a common practice they use to increase the amount of money the actual mover gets! I paid up front $1490 ...that money went to gold coast...then 1/2 of remaining balance "cash" of $1,100 went to mover at arrival and final 1/2 of $1100 when items were delivered again "cash" to actual mover. Now I owe an additional $1550 cash to actual mover upon delivery. How can a company be more than 1/2 off on their Sq footage in their estimate??? You have no choice but to pay and they suddenly need more cash to move your items! To add insult the storage unit they moved it into was a 15 x 10 x 8...... and it didn't even fill it up!

LIARS, THIEVES, & CHEATS. Gold Standard Movers misrepresented themselves as a mover, extorted us for twice the $$ estimate we agreed on, moved our delivery date multiple times with no communication, and delivered our items late and damaged. We scheduled a late August interstate move and were given an estimate of just over $1,200. We were told payment methods of cash, personal check, or cashiers check were acceptable. We confirmed our pickup date and payment methods one week before the move. The day of the move, AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT COMPANY they contracted arrived to do the work. They were 3 hours late with no explanation or communication and did not have our estimate or delivery information. They insisted on a new contract AND cash only payment of over $2400 — including charges for packing tape, padded blankets, walking 1 item down 1 flight of stairs, parking, and a mandatory $200 tip. That's more than double our binding estimate. When we asked about the charges they didn't explain or even give us a Bill of Lading. We paid the cash because we wanted our items to be safe, and went to Gold Standard for help. They told us we should have known that the estimate wasn't binding, cash was the only acceptable payment method, and that we should have known they were a broker who hired other companies. ALL 3 OF THOSE PIECES OF INFORMATION ARE FALSE given our previous conversation with them. After no additional responses despite repeated follow-up on our part, we received our items 3 weeks late and damaged. If you want your items handled correctly, use another company.

I ended up paying almost $15,000 after a "guaranteed" quote of $3,200, they DESTROYED, lost, or outright stole almost half of my stuff, and it was delivered THREE MONTHS LATE. They must spend all of their money on marketing. They pretend they have no responsibility over the movers they hand your stuff to. These brokers are criminals. DO NOT TRUST POSITIVE REVIEWS!

Gold Standard Moving and Storage cancelled my move on July 16, 2021 because they didn't have trucks to conduct the move. I only found out because they never showed up to pick up my belongings. They did, however, keep my deposit of $1,200 despite agreeing to their own terms of 9-12 business days. I have called numerous times, filed complaints, etc., and I still have not received my refund of $1,200.00 DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!! It's been THREE MONTHS and they have commited theft at this point, by appropriating my money to their own use. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gold Standard is terrible. Quick to take your money and then to do nothing. Items were to be picked up 9/27 (paid 9/22). As of 10/8 still not picked up. Everyday promised a call back from them and the carrier. No calls. Had to pay another another month for storage because of them. Do not use them. They don’t care about you or your stuff.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience so far! And we’re not even done. Communication is the absolute worst! They don’t give you any clue on when you will get your furniture delivered or what to expect. Even the Rep assigned to us, Zack Brown doesn’t return phone calls. He was so shady telling me if I wanna lock up this “Deal” then I better pull off the freeway and sign immediately. We’ll now he’s got my money (which nearly tripled!) and I’ve been a week sleeping on hardwood floors and still not knowing if I’ll ever get my furniture. I am supposed to start a new job on Monday but that’s in jeopardy now as nobody can tell me when I will get my stuff. BEWARE!!!

Charged us an extra 5000$ halfway through moving. Lied at every turn re when they were coming, 2 weeks extra at each end. Thought we would never see our stuff. Never wrapped our furniture. Road-To-Load mover they hired were in kahoots with them. Mafia my guess. Oh..and pics later showed they had their licence plates painted over. VERY BAD PEOPLE.

I wanted to believe that this company was going to do right. I dealt with a sales woman named Sara. I gave her everything that I had for the move. She quoted me for a 2.86 Cubic ft space. This was my first move, when I did a google before calling, I didnt think that this company was a broker. Sara then quoted me about a 2500 dollar price quote and I said it was to high. After placing me on several holds she indicated that she could do lower to 1800 and all I had to do was put a 750 dollar deposit to reserve the moving date. When I got off the phone, I googled the company again and after deep diving into this, I realized instantly I made a mistake. I checked BBB 1 star, I checked yelp 1 star. I immediately texted sara and said I need to cancel this, she said oh well those bad reviews you see are from another company gold standard moving who is trying to use our name and that is where the bad reviews come from. So I was gullible and decided to stay with the move just do it. Fast forward to the day of the move, the movers were 3.5 hours late. When I called gold standard they said that the timeframe of 9am-1pm was just an estimate and that it wasn't guaranteed. Maybe you should tell your customers that to begin with? or maybe not. Shady practices. The movers finally arrive and look at all I had in my place that I already told Sara and got a quote for, that my space that was needed would be 4 cubic feet. Now the ironic thing about all this is that, I even had less stuff than what I was quoted. I was told by sara, that they would pack up my tv for me and move my stuff. I was also told that they would have a credit card reader on them ( which im not that upset about). They proceeded to argue with me about the space on the truck and that my stuff wouldnt be 2.86 cubic ft.' I gave in to the additional charge, they packed my stuff and when I signed the contract they said specifically in that contract " would a 75 ft truck fit in my complex" I signed and said yes. Fast forward to today, when I receive my stuff. The movers came and it was of course a different company. They called my partner and said that they couldnt fit the truck in the complex and I said thats absurd, they sure can. We went to go meet the movers and upon arrival they were so rude and disgusting it made me even more mad with the whole ordeal. He said that he would need to call and rent a uhaul to take the stuff off the truck and put it in a uhual van to get it to me. The charge would be an additional 500 dollars. They also then offered another suggestion and asked if we had apick up truck, i said yes. so we called my brother in law and he came with a truck. The owner comes to me with the paperwork after my brother in law arrives and wants me to sign it. I said no i want my stuff delivered and I will pay you.. he refused and he said he wasnt delivering the stuff anyway the only thing he was doing was taking my stuff off the truck and loading it into the van. my family told me to just sign the paperwork and zelle them the money. Fine. The worker felt bad for us that was with the owner of the truck and decided to make several trips with my brother in law to move my stuff to my apartment. my stuff isnt where it needs to be in my house. They were suppose to move my stuff to their respected areas of my house. Instead they forced me, my brother in law and 1 of the guys to help us get our stuff in. The point im trying to make is........... 1. AVOID THIS MOVING COMPANY AT ALL COST. GOLD MOVING STANDARD AND STORAGE IS A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS. WHEN YOU CALL YOU ARE A DOLLAR SIGN TO THEM. THEY DONT CARE, THEY MISQUOTE YOU AND REFER YOU TO A BUNCH OF DISGUSTING MOVERS TO HANDLE YOUR STUFF. 2. NEVER EVER EVER EVER PAY FOR A MOVE WITH CASH. A REPUTABLE COMPANY WILL OFFER CREDIT CARDS. 3. WHEN YOU CHOOSE GOLD STANDARD MOVING AND STORAGE, THEY FOUND MERIT GREAT AMERICAN MOVERS THEN THIS MOVER FOUND SOMEONE ELSE TO FINISH THE MOVE, YOUR STUFF IS SHUFFLED AND IF YOU DONT LABEL YOUR STUFF WITH YOUR ADDRESS YOU ARE SCREWED. 4. MY STUFF WAS THROWN IN THERE, MY BOXES WERE ALL DAMAGED 5. I DONT KNOW WHY I HIRED THEM WHEN I HAD TO BASICALLY USE MY FAMILY TO MOVE, ALL THEY DID WAS TRANSPORT THE ITEMS THEN DEMAND A TIP? AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID... Their sales team also will never respond or call you back and their customer service is atrocious. If any of you that took the time to read this please please do your research and do not believe the positive reviews, they are staged. This company needs to be shut down for good. STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE, IM GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS GETS KNOWN.
