My floor is beautiful and I’m happy I found go hardwood. We had an initial glitch with the carrier damaging some of the boxes including wood damage. Go Hardwood made this right immediately.
On a side note, our floor is maple, immensely beautiful, but scratches rather easily. Next time I’ll go another direction. For now, I’m quite satisfied.

5" builder's grade engineered hickory
The finished floor looks very, very good, but it was a hassle. I talked to a rep and was assured that 20% overage was enough for builder's grade - it was not. There were many crushed corners, missing tongues, missing knots, cracks in the veneer, and the tongues and grooves were machined upside down on a large number of boards so the ends would not connect to a board correctly done. I had at least enough incorrect boards for one, maybe two long (27') rows and thought I could use them in a whole row, but the tongues/grooves are not centered in the thickness of the board and such a row would have made a "trench" so I had to throw these all out. I calculated that I needed 33% to 34% overage to have been OK. I started to order more and then noticed that at some number of square feet the shipping for first quality boards was free. Shipping for builder's quality was very expensive and that plus the extra cost for the extra overage needed made the builder's quality a very poor buy. There is also a minimum square footage for an order and I did not meet it. I did not test whether the company would have allowed me to order more because of my circumstances - but rather, in order to save hundreds of dollars, bought a doweling jig, cut the usable parts out of the bad boards, and doweled the ends of the boards to hold them in place while the glue dried. I barely made it - I had one 2 foot board left over. If you are considering builder's quality. I recommend you add up the cost of the shipping plus the square footage including the extra overage to compare with the total you would spend for first quality. You should also make sure, by talking to a rep, that you will be able to order a small quantity more if you run short.

Return of hardwood floor
I purchased wood floor. It was wrong color then I returned it. Make sure you get right color. Mohawk charges a high restocking fee. Otherwise the company was honest and kept their word.

Best hardwood floors
Im never one to write reviews but I am extremely satisfied with my experience that I felt I needed to share with those who may be interested.
So I ordered from these guys their carpet tile for my office a couple months back which came in immaculate condition so I didnt hesitate on their hardwood selection and quality. I ordered the Brazilian Cherry solid wood and it was definitely the product I wanted for my entire house renovation. The color was exactly what I was looking for. I specifically ordered a little more than I needed incase some of them might be damaged or might be slightly different in color which can always happen when ordering hardwood floors. Thank you for being completely upfront and discussing all the details about the product and shipment. I will definitely be a return customer and will recommend to my friends and family. Thanks!!

Nightmare Hardwood Flooring
I'm a residential contractor and I purchased this flooring for my home and did the work myself. The hard wood floor that I received has a lot of imperfections. They are as follows:
- Board width of each board was inconsistent by 1/8 of an inch even after acclimating wood inside for a month at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 90% of the boards were very short in length measuring between 12 and 16 inches in length making it difficult to stagger them and close gaps in the consecutive rows because it will not bend.
- Tongue was also broken off on many boards
- Board ends on many boards were not square. This was evident when using a framing square. It was off by 1/32 to 1/18 of an inch making it impossible to close gaps in the flooring.
- About 10% of the boards had cracks in them that can be seen only after installation was completed and the new floor was shined and buffed. Most of theses ran about 3-4 inches down from the end of the boards, but many were in the middle of the boards.
After taking into account for waste when I had originally purchased the wood (about 1,800 square feet) for a remodeling project and an addition on my house the wood was in a controlled environment in my home at a constant temperature the entire time. Even though it had taken me about 2 years to install this flooring I'm still not finished. I have about 350 square feet left to finish. I'm at a point right now that I'm tired if fighting this flooring to get it installed. I'm not even sure with all of the problems encountered that I'll have enough to finish the job. I'm tempted to order wood from another manufacturer that will have accurate engineering and milling so I won't be aggravated in trying to finish now that I'm in the home stretch. As a contractor and serving my customers who are always looking for cost effective materials I wood not recommend this wood for installation because even though the installation is a nightmare the finished result leaves a lot to be desired. When I had installed the first floor I had paid top dollar for the wood from a local company, but I was able to install it within a week and it was perfect. Even though I had paid a discount price for the second floor I was still expecting wood in excellent condition since it is an exotic wood. Lesson learned.
In response to the reply below:
While I understand that the "builder" selection might have some imperfections that set it apart from the "premium" wood, a company of good morals should never sell wood that is nearly impossible to install that requires trimming and copious wood filler to get the boards to literally fit together upon installation. Having tongues missing/broken off from boards and ends that are not square goes beyond being categorized as a more economic "builders" quality. This wood possesses more than the expected imperfections. If it was simply imperfections (such as some cracks throughout pieces of wood), then yes, we could call this an imperfect batch for the lower price. This wood is defective as it is impossible to install as tongue-and-groove hardwood floors due to their defects and therefore, should not be sold. It would be more better suited as scrap wood.
And to be clear - the length of the pieces can be figured out and worked with to make a professional and beautiful floor. But the defective issue resides in the fact that the boards simply can't be put together due to improper milling of the boards themselves, resulting in irregular widths that can NOT be corrected to install beautiful floors. An 1/8" gap is noticable and takes away from the natural Brazilian beauty. This is NOT "builders" quality. No one can use this wood and produce gapless/seamless floors.

Hi Tasos you purchased Torowood 5" x 3/4" Pre Finished Brazilian Cherry Builder Grade. All of the imperfections you are describing are common with "Builder" grade products. Here is a description of our Builder grade flooring:
"Builder Grade products will include variable amounts of milling, grading, and/or finishing defects; however, such imperfections should still provide a fully install-able floor. Plank lengths will be shorter as compared to premium grade. These product feature the same polyurethane finish as a premium grade product. Builder grade hardwood can provide a low-cost option in hardwood. Shaw builder grade products are considered factory seconds. When purchasing this grade be sure to add 10%-15% to complete the project."

This grade is a lower price point as compared to the "Clear" grade Brazilian Cherry product we carry. With the lower price their tends to be a shorter average board length with solid hardwood flooring. The product page describes an average board length of 24 inches with this Builder grade product.
