My 2023 GMC truck ( leased new in 24) broke down in July while I was on vacation in another state, thankfully at the hotel and not while I was in the mountains, which is where I was going. Had to get a rental car. Had to fight to get reimbursed for the rental (check received in October), but GM won't pay for the taxes affiliated with the rental. I've been trying to get compensated for a ruined vacation from a truck that should have never broke down... VERY DISAPPOINTED that GM's quality has slipped so bad and apparently, so has their customer service.

In 2023 I bought a brand new GMC Denali…
In 2023 I bought a brand new GMC Denali paying the better part of $80,000. The truck burned oil GM rebuilt the engine and now I’m told that it burns a quart every 2000 miles and that it is normal. Additionally, they did a computer update on my truck and it rendered my passenger side retractable running board inoperable and my radio and they would not pay to fix it. Cost me $925. Additionally, the third tail brake tail light is filled with water. They want over $1000 to fix it my backup camera does not work through no fault to my own but they say all this is out of warranty. I would have to say stay away from the 6.2 engine in the GMC products as there is the government is investigating it because there’s been so many complaints and also after rebuilding the engine, they told me I had to use a special oil with a new viscosity and that my oil changes were gonna be double in price a local Mechanic told me the reason why they changed the viscosity of the oil is so that you don’t see the blue smoke coming out of your exhaust pipe that’s a fine. How do you do?

GM’s handling of our catastrophic CP4 failure was unacceptable
Our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Duramax suffered a catastrophic CP4 high-pressure fuel-pump failure. The failed pump distributed metal debris throughout the fuel system, and a Chevrolet dealership quoted $17,168.96 for the required repair, including replacement of the pump, injectors, rails and other fuel-system components.
We maintained this truck and brought it to Chevrolet dealerships for service during our ownership, including service and a multipoint inspection at approximately 102,000 miles. Despite GM having technical information addressing metal-debris failures in this fuel system, we never received an owner warning, recall notice or recommendation to consider preventive action.
Had GM informed us of the problem, we could have investigated a much less expensive preventive repair before the pump failed and contaminated the entire fuel system.
After the failure, we provided GM with the dealership diagnosis, repair estimate, photographs and supporting documentation. GM offered only 10% assistance, leaving us responsible for nearly the entire cost.
Our small-claims case was specifically about GM’s failure to inform or warn us about the known CP4 fuel-system problem. We were not claiming that GM manufactured the Bosch pump. Our position was that GM selected and continued using this fuel-system design, possessed information about its metal-debris failure mode and failed to notify us—even though we brought the truck to Chevrolet dealerships for service and GM had opportunities to communicate the risk.
We filed the case against General Motors LLC in Polk County, Oregon. GM’s registered agent was personally served, and GM separately acknowledged the case. After GM did not file a response, the court entered a $10,269 general judgment against General Motors LLC, plus post-judgment interest.
To be precise, the judgment was entered by default; I am not claiming that the court conducted a full trial or issued detailed findings about the CP4’s design. GM nevertheless had notice of the case and an opportunity to respond.
My strongest criticism is not simply that a mechanical component failed. It is that GM did not warn us before the failure and did not meaningfully resolve the matter afterward. A manufacturer should communicate known risks honestly, respond appropriately when a catastrophic failure occurs and take responsibility for addressing legitimate customer complaints. Our experience with GM did not meet that standard

Repeated Major Failures With No Clean Resolution
My 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV has experienced repeated major failures, multiple tow-ins, significant propulsion-related repairs, and is currently back at the dealership again while GM considers additional major repairs, including possible high-voltage battery replacement.
I have now spent months dealing with breakdowns, towing, repair attempts, loaner vehicles, and repeated escalations through GM.
At this point, I do not want the vehicle returned to me.
I am not asking for a replacement vehicle, a trade, or additional compensation. I am asking GM to fund the remaining lease obligation, accept return of the vehicle, and release me from the lease.
GM may choose to continue repairing the vehicle, but after repeated failures and increasingly significant repairs, I have completely lost confidence in it and am not comfortable continuing to drive it.
My frustration is that I have made this requested resolution clear, yet I am still waiting for GM to provide a final answer while the vehicle remains at the dealership.
I believe that after this many failures, repairs, tow-ins, and months of disruption, asking to return the vehicle and end the remaining lease is a reasonable resolution.

I bought a Chevrolet Express van 2500…
I bought a Chevrolet Express van 2500 back in 2020 and at 62000 miles earlier than normal I took it for a transmission fluid change. The changed fluid according to them twice and all was good. At 65000 miles I had skipping issues. I took it back and they said all mechanical was good and charged me 220 to do a software update. Since then I had experienced the same thing off and on until it got worse and since they couldn't find anything the first time I kept looking elsewhere for answers until at around 70000 miles I had check engine light indicating transmission issues. P0700 to be exact. Kept resetting module by removing battery and putting it back and cleared it sometimes for weeks sometimes for days and sometimes twice in a day. So I had almost no doubt it could be electrical or computer related. When I returned to dealership ty said it was out of warranty at 60000 miles. At 80000 engine light started to come on and that's when I saw the p0700. But that doesn't mean anything. Took it to another shop at 86000 miles and they said transmission is bad. They showed me the same dark fluid that the dealership said it was nothing at 62000 miles. Long story short they said they'll charge me 12k to replace transmission while I'm still paying payments on this car, the car is worthless. I'm thinking at 62000 miles and dark fluid they knew something was up and they didn't say anything and bandaided it hoping it'll pass quickly so they didn't have to be so marginal about warranty and fixing the car. I hope everyone considers this review before they go to GM. Of course this is my experience experience on a fleet product. But this fleet product over the course of past 6 years cost me 40k minimum and that is not a small price. A transmission shouldn't give up at 60000 miles. Mine did and GM dealership failed to detect and fix it in time and now they're completely washing their hands off it. Don't buy Chevy cars and truck.

Absolutely Disappointing Experience with Cadillac Lyriq and GM Customer Service
I want to share my personal, deeply disappointing experience with General Motors and my Cadillac Lyriq.
Even before the total breakdown, I encountered several recurring issues with my Lyriq:
· Unusual noise from the heating system
· Intermittent black screen
· Passenger door that would not open
· Cameras failing to function
· Occasional starting problems
Some issues would appear and disappear unpredictably, which left me feeling uncertain and uncomfortable with the vehicle's reliability.
My vehicle remained at the dealership from December 4, 2025 and was not returned to me until March 24, 2026 — nearly four months. The delay, in my case, was due to a missing part. It felt unacceptable to me that a new vehicle could be immobilized for this long due to a parts shortage.
During those months, I did not receive meaningful assistance from GM's customer service. My emails, calls, and messages were either ignored or met with brief, generic responses asking for my patience — which I felt were dismissive of my situation. I received no compensation or assistance with my bank payments or other expenses I incurred during this time. From my perspective, I was left to deal with the consequences on my own.
When you finance a vehicle over five years and it experiences significant issues within the first year, it raises legitimate concerns about the brand's reliability and after-sales support.
In my view, buying this Cadillac Lyriq was a major mistake. Based on my experience, I would not assume that the Optiq, Vistiq, or IQ models are any better. I also personally have serious concerns about the reliability of the 6.2L engines found in the Cadillac Escalade and Yukon, and I would not consider purchasing them.
GM has lost me as a customer, and I will be sharing my experience with my family and friends. Given that I work in the limousine industry and regularly interact with potential luxury vehicle buyers, I feel it is important to share my honest perspective so others can make an informed decision.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this brand to anyone after what I went through.
For a brand that markets itself as prestigious, I found this level of service and reliability deeply disappointing.

Terrain Elevation
I purchased a brand-new GMC Terrain in the UAE expecting reliability, safety, and peace of mind.
Instead, within 8 months of ownership, the vehicle spent approximately 4 months in workshops due to repeated concerns, including an ABS warning while driving with my family, steering and braking concerns, and a cruise control issue.
After multiple investigations, repairs, software updates, and workshop visits, I was ultimately informed that some of these behaviors are considered normal characteristics of the vehicle.
I continue to pay installments, insurance, registration, warranty, and service costs while having completely lost confidence in the vehicle.
I hope @General Motors and @GMC review this case objectively and help reach a fair resolution.

The 2024 tahoes are known to have…
The 2024 tahoes are known to have transmission problems. The vehicle is a still under warranty. General motors only allows you to rent a gm vehicle from. Hertz for$44 a day. When you drive a tahoe, they want you to rent a chevy Trax. They should do a recall for the 2024 tahoes and Silverado. I do not recommend general motor vehicles to anyone.
