I had applied for an account to raise funds. They suspended my account without cause, as soon as the account was created. They said they don't feel safe having me raise funds, and it is for the safety of the community that I not have an account. I provided the documentation that was needed. Someone is telling lies, and not being truthful, and this is slander.

EDITED AND UPDATED: I continue to receive unsolicited email from a perfect stranger purporting to raise money for a sports team I have never heard of that is halfway across the country from me. The unsubscribe link in the emails does not work -- it produces a DNS error. I have emailed the company asking to be permanently removed from any emailings but have not received any response. I do not know where this company, or this perfect stranger seeking to raise funds for a team I have never heard of, acquired my email address. Anyone considering using this company should be aware that you run the risk of angering your potential donors with unwanted spam. Be further aware that their purported unsubscribe links do not work, and that their site does not have any link for a user to request that emails be stopped. It looks like a pretty irresponsible organization to me. UPDATE: Trustpilot has advised me that "givebutter.com has flagged your review because they don’t think it’s based on a genuine experience." Nonetheless, I have now provided to givebutter the information requested in their reply (namely, the addresses I used unsuccessfully to contact them and request removal). Givebutter has now responded, "Thank you for providing that additional information. Our engineering team is looking into the unsubscribe link to make sure it functions properly in the future. Miranda has also been informed that her email is not reaching the intended recipient. We appreciate your concern over this and for bringing it our attention." I remain concerned about the issues I raised, and the number of unanswered questions that are still there. What process (if any) does givebutter use to scrutinize lists of addresses submitted by fundraisers to avoid spam? Why does the unsubscribe link on the unsolicited email only generate an error message? Why is there no policy concerning spam posted on the givebutter web site? Why is there no link or contact address on the web site for users to request removal from givebutter mailings?

We are a tiny, volunteer-run nonprofit organization that depends on fundraising to exist. We lost hundreds of dollars in potential donations--along with experiencing deep embarrassment at our event--due to GiveButter's admitted mobile platform glitch where our guests were not able to bid live on silent auction items at our event. We had a piece of artwork that went for grossly under its listed value due to the inability of people at our event to bid live. A river rafting package ended up going for only half of its value. The organizations that generously donated these items were appalled, and we were deeply embarrassed. Generally, the idea with a silent auction is that people are able to give, not get a deal. What could I tell them except that GiveButter screwed up. On top of that, I can't tell you how much time I have spent scrambling to recover with our guests and donors during a time when I should have been focused on thanking folks for their generosity. Getting any kind of customer service--during the glitch and after--was a joke. They have yet to apologize for the issue. Instead, they offered to refund our service fee plus a $69 "donation." I've spent literally hours trying to use their chat feature, and no one returns my emails. We are an extremely small nonprofit organization doing all we can to keep on our feet and keep our organization afloat. This silent auction was vital for our survival, and GiveButter flat out screwed us.

GiveButter's Auction system completely tanked during our in-person event and it devastated our fundraiser. We are in shock by how bad the failure was and how pathetic GiveButter's customer service was afterwards. We will never use them again and recommend others avoid their service at all costs, especially if you plan to use the Auction feature. What Happened: Everything leading up to the event worked as expected, however, when our patrons accessed and placed bids on our items during the in-person event, they experienced a backend system failure that locked them out of bidding: 1. Upon placing a bid for an item, users were asked to create an account and place their bid which they did successfully. 2. When they were auto-alerted that they had been outbid and prompted to place a new bid, they were again directed back to the Auction landing page, but they couldn't place a bid without being prompted to again, "Create an Account" 3. When they did start the "Create an Account" process, their information pinged back as already having an account. However, their original login information did not work or verify as an existing account. 4. Our event was attended by more than 100 donors and not a single person was able to place a bid because of this account loop malfunction. 5. This seemed to be a non-issue for people at home using computers, which led us to believe this is a mobile-compatibility issue when using a mobile web-browser. There is no indication on the website that the mobile app is required to make auction access available on phone devices. How GiveButter Responded: Four days after our event, a GiveButter team member replied to our service request email and said, "Our engineering has identified some issues in the UI that caused the errors for your event, and we're so sorry about that," and offered to refund only $69 in compensation. While the gesture was appreciated, is less than 5% of the value of our auction items - that no one was able to bid on during our event due to GiveButter's system failure. It devastated our event and the fall out for our non-profit was serious, embarrassing and costly. There hasn't been follow up from customer service after their "refund" was issued. We are still sorting out the aftermath with our donors and auction participants weeks later... Based on our experience, use GiveButter at your own risk, do not expect a prompt reply, and do not expect a fair customer service experience or a reliable user experience for your donors.

Trying to work with this Company but no live person to speak to. How can I run campaigns with bad customer service? What would donors do? I spent almost two hours on a chat waiting for responses and the nice agent said they have a small team and continued to apologize. Significant wait time between responses from agent. The he simply sent links they didn't answer the specifics. Again would have been a short phone chat. Obviously, this Company spent much of the funding on Marketing, SEO, and flashy website. Whet about good old fashioned reasonable customer service?

My review of GiveButter is completely based on my own personal opinions and is not meant to smear, slander, or make defamatory statements about GiveButter. All of the statements I’m making in regards to GiveButter are being alleged based on my personal experience. GiveButter allegedly deactivated my account and the allegedly stopped responding to my email in regards to refunding all of my donors. I allegedly received an email from an alleged GiveButter employee named Rachid informing me that refunds would be granted to my donors. Allegedly GiveButter has not issued all of the refunds to my donors. I think they should have solved this issue more professionally instead of allegedly ignoring emails, messages, and chats.

One of the most awkward to use platforms online today. Shockingly difficult to navigate to specific fundraisers and almost impossible to contact customer service.
