Claim reviews go on forever and no one ever acknowledges email questions. I give 2 stars instead of one because my last contact with a human being by phone was very helpful. Would I ever use Odie for a future pet? NOT A CHANCE!!!!!!!!

Transfered from Manypets to Odie when they merged..and Odie has been awful compared..takes WAY WAY WAY to long to process claims ans you cant get a hold of anyone in customer service...now I will say I think they just switched reviews companies so I am hopeful that the claims process will be quicker 7-14days is perfectly acceptable, 1-2months with no communication is not

Odie handles the insurance provided by Nibbles, a credit card that includes pet insurance as a benefit. The card sounds great until you actually try to use it. Their customer service is abysmal. They work so hard to keep you from actually using the included insurance. I spent hours trying to understand their requirements for medical history documents they didn't bother mentioning would be needed when I signed up and tracking down information that was never my responsibility to acquire in the first place. They asked for my dogs medical records on his vet visit in such a confusing way that needed clarification. A phone number was not available and the email customer service first told me it wasn't an issue and then ignored my follow-up. It wasn't until my claim was denied that I got the phone number of Odie and found out they were my actual insurer. I called them and was told they needed specific medical records. My vet however, told me that those records can only be requested by the insurer and I never should have been involved in that information request. Through months of figuring this out Odie's customer service started refusing to speak with Nibbles customers, despite Nibbles sending their customers with questions to them. When we finally found a form of medical history they accepted, for one claim. Afterwards, despite providing the medical history previously accepted, my claims were regularly randomly denied due to missing medical history. Any appeals made were outright ignored, denied again with nothing more than the original denial letter for explanation. Getting these people to pay out anything of the insurance they claim to provide is painfully difficult even by other insurances' standards. I do not know how much of these issues are from nibbles and how much are from Odie specifically, but simply their willingness to work with Nibbles and allow their customers to be treated this way tells me they should never be trusted with any pets health.

I would not recommend Odie if you think you will need to interact with Customer Service. I discovered Odie had recorded my dog's age incorrectly so I sent an email with supporting documentation showing what it should be. I got "junk" emails in response (eg AI generated that were boilerplate) then after at least 8 attempts, finally got a real person. However, he recorded the correction incorrectly (a year too old). I got Odie to agree that was wrong (resent all my documentation) but after 8 or so more emails, could not get anyone to fix it although they claimed they would. This is not rocket science. If they can't do this, how do they handle a claim? I cancelled my policy and went with another company.

I am also a policy holder previously of Many Pets who was transferred by Many Pets to Odie. I am grateful my experience has not been as bad as a lot of the other posters. Claim time is ridiculous. 3 months or longer easy for claims to process. Filed over 25 claims in that time with minimum issues besides the insane processing time. Very difficult to reach someone. Only had my policy with Odie for about 9 months before my fur baby passed away, but I suspect my opinion likely would have gotten worse over time. I personally did not experience denials and all my pets pre existing conditions were covered as stated by Odie. I believe many pets deserves equal ratings as Odie for selling out their policies putting people in this position and would not recommend either

Was switched from Many Pets which was an awesome company, to Odie Pet Insurance. They suck to be truthful. I have a monthly claim for medication for one of my cats that Many Pets always paid for. Odie denied the very first claim on this saying it was a pre-existing condition by reading between the lines on a vet explanation on a visit before he was diagnosed. I had to fight the claim and explain that if Many Pets paid for it then by law they should to. They fought back saying they have the right to make their own decisions. So by them saying that you get the same coverage...blah blah blah... is a joke and a lie. I finally called Many Pets and complained to them then followed up with an appeal with Odie. Finally got them to pay for it, which is great when they actually get around to paying for claims. I sometimes go 3 months or longer (if I don't call and complain) to get paid for the monthly claim that I have. I normally have to call after 30 days and start complaining every week until I finally get paid. This last one was insane. Finally go them to pay 3 months of bills and it sat in the pending payment stage for over 2 weeks. Called again and was sent an email saying it would be another week. Called again and finally got the payment released. It's really getting ridiculous and I'm in a bind now because I can't go anywhere else because this is going to be considered a pre-existing condition with another company. I can only hope they get their act together soon. They sure can take money out of my account every month for the policy payment, they just can't seem to release it. They keep saying they will be getting better as they hire but I've heard this for the whole year now.
