With that being said, we are a team of humans, and so are the boat owners listed with us thus mistakes can happen. Looking at the details of your interactions with the boat owner, we do see that he did send you an offer and at the same time a message with details of the offer and additional costs. This was in fact sent prior to your reservation being confirmed, meaning prior to you making payment. This was done to ensure you read the terms and could make an informed decision. We recognize the confusion as you were of the understanding that the offer you received was all inclusive, however by law for bareboat charters the captain must be paid separately. Again, this was all communicated prior to you having made any payments. Our records indicate that our team did reach out to offer assistance with finding another boat and ensure that all details were made clear to which you declined and requested a refund. This is not the outcome we want to see, we want to help get as many people out on the water as possible. Nicholas is one of our top boat owners and has completed over 400 reservations so we can say with utmost confidence there was no attempt to mislead you. Hello Susan, It is unfortunate that you had to cancel your recent reservation. We understand it can be upsetting when things do not go according to plan. We do want to address your review and clarify a few points. You mentioned that you did not finalize the rental and your credit card was charged. You sent an inquiry requesting to reserve the boat for 6 guests on May 31st 2022, the boat owner responded with the offer for what you requested on the same day. The following day you sent a message the boat owner requesting to change the time and mentioned that there may be 7 guests and asked if that would be ok. The boat owner responded with a new offer changing the time as requested, kept the number of guests at 6 and advised you that they have a maximum of 6 guests due to coast guard laws. This was advised to you prior to you making payment to confirm the reservation and accepting the offer sent to you. This information of the restrictions on number of guests is also noted in the listing which the boat owner also pointed out. Your reservation was confirmed when you proceeded to click the Book Now button and confirm you reservation. You are aware that payment is captured in full when you are confirming your reservation and making payment. The reservation was in fact not cancelled by the boat owner our records indicate that you contacted our support staff to request the cancellation. You were offered assistance with finding another boat and have what was already paid be applied to a new reservation. You declined the offer and requested a refund. It is clearly noted in the offer that the service fee is non-refundable, thus you were refunded minus the fee. You would have also been aware of our policy on the service fee as you did complete a reservation with us in March of 2021. Roy, We agree with you, cancellations like this should be avoided, boat owners have a responsibility to provide the best service and avoid situations like this. We see that you were contacted by our team on the day of the cancellation and offered assistance with finding another boat. Our team would have applied your payment to another reservation, however you advised that you had made other plans. A full refund was processed the same day, and you were advised of the timeframe to be returned to your bank account. The next day one of our supervisors contacted to advise how seriously we take these matters and that we do in fact hold boat owners accountable. Oliver, We understand your frustration, what may not have been explained to you previously is that Emma’s transaction was being blocked by her financial institution. We do have security measures in place to protect boat owners and ourselves from potential fraudulent activity. It is not our goal to turn away business from boat owners on our platform. With regard to your listing being removed from our platform, we reserve the right to restrict access to our services, however our records do indicate that your account was removed as it is associated with another banned account.
