The captains were very nice, and welcoming, the experience was fun because there were us 12 girls and how can you not have fun just being together? Now, a couple downfalls, take off took about 45 mins, there was a delay and the captain couldn’t figure out the engine that was stuck through moss and mud in the lake, and I think because of that we should’ve gotten 45 extra minutes added to our time to make up for it. Another thing, not that we would’ve used the bedroom/bed area, but it’s the principle of it being very dirty and messy like, almost like a crime scene, the bathroom had many issues as well, there was wet old toilet paper and no toilet seat on so you best believe we had to hover! also it was clogged majority of the time as well. Now towards the end, the captain made me fill out the survey in front of him and told me if I didn’t “it would charge me more” which didn’t really make sense and it made me feel like I couldn’t answer the service in truth. All in all good experience but def needs to be less expensive price wise, not worth $1800 for 3 hours.

Good interface, responsive support, but come on, if you try to prevent people from doing business in-person you're going to create ill will. You gotta add value beyond just connecting people. Both the boat owner and I are happy to pay for the connection, but if you want repeat business you gotta add value. Also just make it easier to browse the other boats available from the same owner/company! People buy from people.

I was informed that the boat I booked was in repair one day before the trip. The owner offered a smaller boat at a reduced price, $400 instead of $600, which I accepted. The $200 difference was refunded. However, GetMyBoat refused to reduce the booking fee, which at 7.5% should be $30 instead of $45. After the initial review was posted, GetMyBoat did adjust the booking fee.

Updating my review after receiving a partial resolution from the staff at GetMyBoat. Original experience details: in September of 2021, I used GetMyBoat to book a charter for a group of 10 people to celebrate a birthday. I originally wanted to book a 2-hour trip, but found a third-party listing that offered complimentary use of paddleboards for bookings over 4 hours. So, I booked for 4 hours. Long story short: come the day of our trip, the weather was unfortunately very windy, and when the captains took us out of the harbor, the waves were so choppy and nauseating that we decided to return to the harbor almost immediately which we continued to circle for the rest of our time (about 3 hours). Not sure why we didn't get to enjoy the water or the paddleboats in the harbor, but seems like it may have been a communication issue. After the trip, I attempted to resolve this poor experience where I essentially didn't get what I paid for (over $2,300). I tried first with the third-party boat owner but got nowhere, so then I tried to file a complaint with GetMyBoat after. They told me that I had passed their deadline to submit a complaint, but I didn't even know there was such a short window of time, something like a few days, to submit a complaint. Even though I explained to the rep that I had tried to resolve the issue with the boat owner first which is why I missed their deadline, my conversation went nowhere and eventually they stopped replying to my emails altogether, leaving me feeling frustrated. It wasn't until I posted a review of GetMyBoat here that they took my issue seriously. I appreciate the action they've taken now, but due to my bad experience as well as the difficulties one may encounter with third-party listings on their site, I likely will not use GetMyBoat again in the future.

We rented a boat in Rio de Janeiro through the platform. The vendor had over 20 boats, so I figured it was a middle man, but nothing to worry to about. We got the date for a group of 20 people, and I paid the full amount. I was contacted by 3 different people at different times who told me they'd be the one taking the communication with me. This was not true because the other 2 people kept texting me with different information. On the day of the boat ride, one of these 3 concierge people called me at 6am and told me that the ride would start at 10am to 2pm. I said, "no, the rent was scheduled from 9am for 6 hours, so 9am to 3pm. She checked and apologized and she asked me if we could start at 9.30. It didnt seem like an unreasonable ask so I said ok. At 1.30 pm the captain tells me that we'll be disembarking soon, I was shocked, so I said we had paid until 3pm. He was also shocked because the middle man had paid him for 5 hours only. It was over an hour of going back and forth on the phone and then he came and told me that the company would reimburse me for the time we didn't get. At that point, I didnt want my guests to see the tension so I decided what was left of the ride. I contacted GetMyBoat. I was told to send pictures of the time of disembarking, which I did. Silence for over a week, nobody replied. Then I filed a complaint on their website. Almost 2 days later I got a refund for 52 usd, much less than the amount for the time not services. NOt to mention all the discomfort dealing with this. They have ways to go managing relationships and making sure their customers have a pleasant experience. I do not recommend it.

As a sailboat owner and prospective boat charter, I have reached out to GET MY BOAT for preliminary info and they seemed knowledgeable. I’m not a company. Rather just looking to make use of my vessel, enjoy sailing while covering yearly marine costs. While their commission might seem high, the percentage, to me is reasonable for what they offer. I’ll probably give another review once I get my captain license and have charters thru the app this sailing season on the Chesapeake.
