Falls short of the hype...
Unfortunately my experience was not nearly as great as that described by others on this site. I can't comment on how they respond to a claim as I only had them about a week. I was trying to insure my brand new Galaxy Z Fold4 and followed their app's instructions for capturing screen images in a mirror as that is what they use to prove ownership and status. Unfortunately things were not that simple and I was soon corresponding with support. The largest issue is there seems to be no way to edit an added item so my new phone was in there per their app's instructions, which proved incorrect/incomplete as their support person was telling me with a Fold 4 I needed an additional image of the inner screen which their app didn't mention. No problem I think, I'll just edit my item and append a new image they need. Well there is no way to add to my phone which is not covered yet because they don't have everything they need yet and support's only offer is for me to delete and try again. I even sent along the image and my receipt to their people to edit my item for me. I know they can because they edited the purchase price previously. The support people really seem to be hit or miss. Some were good while others obviously didn't even read my updates. However even the good ones couldn't help me get my phone registered properly so this insurance was useless to me. Another reason I canceled in that first week is that I had purchased the full plus 25 electronic item coverage plan, but that too proved problematic as when I went to add my Lenovo Legion laptop to my list of covered items; I found that despite the Legion line being current and popular and mine only purchased in March, Akko has no record of this product line in their list of Lenovo laptop models. When asked the support people tell me some workaround to try... I'm thinking they should fix their lists and work to have the product registration process far more seamless. The simple fact is that after 5 days of purchasing their insurance and a half dozen emails back and forth, I still was not able to insure a thing with them and that really put me off. Update: So now I get a message telling me that unless I send my AKKO account number, phone number, and full name (the very same displayed on this site) that my review will be deleted. I did send it along but given my 5 days of email every day to AKKO, the fact that I just canceled and left this review an hour later the very same day and morning, and my name is displayed; you would think they would know who I am. Talk about making me feel even more like a number LOL
