German with LauraReviews of germanwithlaura.com

Laura is an exceptional teacher. She explained the German fundamental Grammar principles like no other teacher before her. To give such a compact but thorough overview of German grammar was exceptional. I have tried language schools many times but they never worked for me because 80% of the time felt wasted. No overview, no rules, struggling to have a conversation with other beginners. My only concern during her course was that I worried about where to continue or find a similar minded teacher near me next. Luckily, before I finished my course her second beta course came out so I signed up for that immediately. I'm still worried a bit what happens after but I feel that with the two courses together I will have a pretty strong foundation to build on. Thank you Laura!

This course is absolutely worth the money! After having started German with Laura a few months ago, I can finally understand grammar changes which used to confuse me when trying to learn German and it has made learning German easier overall. Laura is a great and enthusiastic teacher and supports you throughout the course. The course provides you with the foundations you need to understand German. I would recommend to anyone who wishes to learn German!

I cannot recommend this course enough. If you've been struggling with the WHY behind German conjugations, and you want to be able to logically predict the HOW, then you simply must take this course. It is an absolute goldmine, and Laura is one of those people who was just born to teach. Explains everything slowly and keeps repeating already learnt marterial to the point you say it with her. Holds your hand the whole way through. Now that I finished with Laura's one, I am now taking a traditional German course and I can tell how much further I am compared to my classmates because I have Laura's knowledge under my belt. Mwhaha!

German with Laura is a great course in German grammar. The approach is that if you understand basic grammar concepts and use them to dissect German sentences, the vocabulary you later learn becomes immediately useful to you instead of being just another way to be unintelligible. The reference materials provided will be useful to you long after the course, especially if you then go on to traditional-style courses. If I’m going to offer a criticism, I wish there was more about the “sounds” of German. She doesn’t tell you anything wrong - but my mind refused to not assign sounds to various letters/diphthongs. Some of what I came up with was quite wrong and I had to unlearn it. Don’t kid yourself - you need to put in the work - languages are hard, but German with Laura gave me enough traction so I could learn on my own and it’s a great head start if you intend to take other courses. I look forward to her future, more advanced courses.

Excellent mind mapping learning strategies!!! Laura provides super rationales for German grammar which otherwise relies on memorisation without a basic learning foundation. If the foundations are not solid you have little chance of building your language progression. An experienced teacher full of enthusiasm for her subject which flows to her Studenten :)

I took the course when couldn't understand a single word of German language. The videos are detailed enough and she taught us by lots of examples. But , It is not enough for a beginner. Honestly, I have been waiting for next course but its been a year and no updates from her side ,that when is she going upload the new lessons. So , I had to take another course. Its good for those who has already has level up to B1 and facing problems with fundamentals.

Excellent course. Laura's chart and videos are very helpful and present a different way of learning what are usually quite tideous tables for articles and cases.

I I think Laura is an amazing and enthusiastic teacher. I tried to learn German years ago and I was not great at all. After about 3 years I decided to call it a day. I never fully understood what was trying to be explained to me by my German teacher and the reasons or importance of learning noun gender and case. I was so focused on just trying to jump feet first into trying to talk. From the course, I understand the need to comprehend the basics and the synergy between the basics and learning the German language. In the course, Laura helps simply important aspects such as being able to identify the gender of a noun and provides a substantial number of practice examples which helps concretise the learning. Laura’s teaching style makes a lot of sense and I was excited to have found her.
