German with LauraReviews of germanwithlaura.com

Extremely useful learning experience, Laura is an engaging teacher who puts across the material in an easy to understand manner.

This is the best online course for German I have come across. Teaching technique is crucial, and it's taught in a simple to understand way. I managed to finally grasp some fairly basic concepts which had eluded me up this point, despite studying German for over two years! Laura is a natural teacher, and each video is easily digestible, fun and well-structured, to make learning as easy as possible, with plenty of opportunity for revision and practice. Although the start of the course appears initially quite simple, it's good to get a proper handle on the basic principles (some of which I mistakenly thought I was already thoroughly familiar with) before tackling more technical and advanced material. As soon as any further courses by Laura appear, I will be signing up! Thank you Laura!

This is a solid course, gave me the foundations that Duolingo and Babbel did not. 99% done with Laura's course and have gone back to Duolingo. It makes more sense now after being exposed to German grammar. Have not been able to retain all of lessons, but it is easy to go back and get a refresher.

Great job, thorough explanations, and pleasant presentations.

I can highly recommend Laura’s Foundation and Unlocking German Grammar courses. She has a very effective way of helping you understand and remember the intricacies of German grammar and noun gender before teaching you how to construct sentences. My grasp of the language has improved immeasurably.

Very valuable information. It answered the questions I had about why certain sentences took certain shapes. The answer was: declensions. This class will help you master your understanding of how German grammar works, and you can start putting together sentences with confidence. Besides a couple of modules that need updating, lessons are solid.

Laura's courses are the best German courses I've ever taken. Her teaching style is so effective in learning why German is the way it is. I've done other courses and they mainly focus on vocabulary and memorization. Of course memorization is needed when learning and vocabulary is important as well. But Laura has techniques that really bring home HOW to learn German effectively so you can converse in German. Her all in one declension chart is pure genius for declensions and cases. She makes leaning easier. The best part is I have soooo much fun doing her courses. I can't wait to log on and learn. You get the courses for life so I simply redo them over and over and the info just sinks in. You learn efficiently and gain confidence every single day. And affordable? You bet. You will pay much more for other courses that don't come close to Laura's. My only regret is I didn't find her courses sooner! My goal is to one day be a fluent German speaker. Laura's courses are definitely helping me toward that goal. Laura ist eine tolle Lehrerin! Vielen Dank und viel Spass!

I want to thank Laura for her clear and thorough explanations of German. As an English teacher, myself, I have found her ability to clearly link English grammar to German grammar invaluable. I also like the fact that she often provides literal translations of the German. Even though the literal translations sound awkward in English, they help me understand what is going on in the German. I like that.
