German with Laura is a great way to start your study of deutsch! Secret is it gives you tools to demistify, patternize and rationalize your encounter with an otherwise ugly and hard seeming language :) It's also well adapted to the adult brain, which is more than can be said for some traditional learning techniques...

I took the Laura's Grammar foundation…
I took the Laura's Grammar foundation course even though I had already passed this level. To my surprise it was great to discover the answers to doubts the former teachers weren't able to give me. It was absolutely very helpful. I know there are exceptions to rule in any language but the hints she gives us as far as the German grammar foundation is built/structured, at least to me, finally answered my questions and put the pieces to the puzzle together. I realized that I don't even have to know the vocabulary in order to 90% guess its gender and above all, the so called declension monster and its fundamental preposition roles was finally understood. So far, I am very much happy indeed. I've interrupted my ongoing course thru another platform for now, and I'll wait till I feel confident enough to return to that level. I was a foreign language teacher for 30 years in my country and to me, the foundation of the language is the pillar which sustains it. If one wants to become fluent and most of all, ACCURATE, without having the basics solid, you'll get nowhere.
Therefore, I truly recommend it especially to the beginners in the language learning process 'cause it will save you a lot to time and money.
Here I go now for the vocabulary course with the same expectations and I hope to be positively surprised again.

I have bought Laura’s Foundation course…
I have bought Laura’s Foundation course and was very disappointed. She simplified building plurals and made it seem very easy, but she simplified it so much that it was not useable. If you use her train stops method to pass a test, you would fail. I paid for her Vocabulary Builder course only to find that I had to buy another book. I told her I wanted B1 level, but the course was A1, so totally useless. Please do not buy any of her courses.

I'm sorry for your disappointing experience, Deborah.
I created my unique Plurals Hierarchy system as an alternative to the pure random memorization that most German learners sadly think is their only option.
I try to be upfront with students that there are some additional aspects (e.g. working with some unavoidable exception lists) that have to be added to my Plurals Hierarchy system in order to get us to a nearly 100% perfect success rate; we intentionally don't cover this additional information in 'German Foundations' (but, rather, later on) so that we can focus strictly on the rules before we add in nuanced details.
You made it clear in our private correspondence that the Plurals Hierarchy (1 module out of 6 in ‘German Foundations’) was your only dissatisfaction with my course. I wrote you detailed explanations of how it works, but you have persisted in believing that my Plurals Hierarchy system teaches incorrect information despite all the evidence to the contrary that I have provided.
I have also offered to give you additional one-on-one assistance and you remain welcome to respond to me anytime with the nouns that you plugged in and got incorrect answers for. I will gladly help you learn how to use this valuable resource correctly. That you have at least up until now chosen to remain unhappy instead of allowing me to help you makes me sad. But, ultimately, I can help only those students who truly want to be helped.
Regarding my ‘Vocabulary Builder’ beta-course: I mention upfront that students must purchase additional resources from 3rd parties and a detailed course syllabus (and actually the entire first module of material) is also previewable so that students can make their own educated decision regarding the course’s suitability; however, I will gladly look over this information to make sure that I can't do something to make this information even clearer to future prospective students.
Of course, it is possible to think a course will be a good fit (or at least be willing to test it out) and discover that it isn’t. As soon as you informed us that Vocabulary Builder wasn’t right for you, we promptly (and truly happily) refunded you with no hassle whatsoever. However, the vast majority of students who have taken Vocabulary Builder have been very happy with the course.
Learning is a very personal experience and it’s simply not possible that one given resource can be the ticket for absolutely everyone. I wish you the best of luck finding resources for your German-learning journey that are a better fit for you.

I just started German Foundations and I can tell that I will learn a lot with Laura's method of teaching. She spells things out very clearly and progresses at a good pace. I intend to complete the course before I move to Germany in 1 month!

I HIGHLY recommend Laura Bennett’s German Foundations course! I only wish I had found it sooner. For just one example, she completely de-mystified the whole subject of declensions for me. Her All-in-One Declensions Chart is absolutely brilliant and worth the price of the entire course! Laura has a gift for simplifying the basic structures of the German language, and her enthusiastic teaching style was so inspiring. I came away with the realization, “I can do this!” You will not be disappointed.

Great German Fundamentals Course
I am a retired person who had high school and some University German classes 35 years ago. I have chance to spend some time in Germany with a friend perhaps next fall. I am looking to review (re-learn!) German so I can converse and read. Laura class has been straight forward and has been very helpful in re-establishing my basic German skills. I am looking forward to doing more classwork with her. Classes are well organized, and she is very helpful. I would highly recommend her classes.
