Just like many others have said, Gerber did a horrible job on my car. I was lied to about why they didn't do a front end alignment they told me that Geico said no and Geico said they never asked for one so I was like to. My headlights are completely out of position. Tail lights weren't hooked up so I drove home not knowing that the tail lights didn't work. The only reason they got two stars was because the body work was pretty good I'm happy with that although my mirror which worked perfectly on that side now won't adjust on my electronic deal and they claim that couldn't be their problem even though they worked on that mirror. Their customer service person was so rude, once I had the car back and told me that's not his problem. They didn't put the decals back on it. They didn't all this stuff that was not their problem so I had to go get all these fixed and turn in the receipts to GEICO, sad very sad. Then to be told that's not our problem, poor customer service.

⚠️ WARNING DO NOT GO HERE
⚠️ WARNING — DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!
I dropped my car off at Gerber Collision on July 6, 2026 after an accident. I was initially given an estimate of nearly $12,000 for the repairs, and I was told my vehicle was expected to be completed by July 31, 2026.
From there, everything went downhill.
For weeks, I received little to no communication from Gerber. I repeatedly had to call to get updates, and there were times they wouldn't even answer the phone. I was calling almost every other week and eventually had to show up in person just to get information about my own vehicle.
Every time I asked what was going on, I was told essentially the same thing: “It's a big repair, and it's going to take longer than expected.” The completion date kept getting pushed back.
The biggest problem was that I was documenting the progress of my vehicle with pictures. On multiple occasions, I would come back weeks later and my car appeared to be in virtually the same condition it had been in during my previous visit. Meanwhile, I was being told that work was being done and that things were progressing.
Eventually, nearly two months had passed, and I still didn't have my car. At that point, I was told that a part was on backorder.
The manager, Shane, eventually stepped in and apologized, acknowledging that the repair had taken far too long and saying that it never should have gotten to this point. He told me they were going to get everything taken care of and repeatedly talked about getting me a rental during this process.
Despite those conversations, I never received a rental and I never received consistent updates. I had to constantly chase Gerber for information about my own vehicle.
Another major concern was that the repair estimate seemed to keep changing. Every time I dealt with Gerber, there seemed to be something else that hadn't been identified during the original inspection. The estimate went from nearly $12,000 to over $18,000 during the roughly three months they had my vehicle.
Then Shane told me my car was finally being repaired and would be ready within about a week.
The following week, GEICO contacted me and told me my vehicle had been totaled.
That's right. After having my car for roughly three months, repeatedly telling me the vehicle was being repaired and would soon be ready, Gerber didn't even contact me themselves to explain what was happening. I had to find out from my insurance company.
When I went to Gerber to retrieve my belongings, I also discovered that my car wouldn't start. Apparently, something had been done that caused the battery to run down. I stood in the parking lot for over an hour and a half while multiple technicians attempted to get the vehicle started.
At that point, I had completely lost confidence in this establishment.
This entire experience was incredibly frustrating. The lack of communication, constantly changing repair timeline, constantly changing estimate, and the fact that I repeatedly had to chase them down for basic information made this one of the worst experiences I've ever had dealing with a repair shop.
I understand that complicated repairs can take time. What I don't understand is the complete lack of communication and being repeatedly told that my vehicle was being repaired when the situation ultimately ended with my insurance company totaling it.
If you care about your vehicle, I strongly recommend taking it somewhere else.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I REPEAT — DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

Run away from this company!
Gerber was recommended by my insurance, but the experience was unacceptable from start to finish. I received an estimate and was told the parts were ready. They were not. Gerber disassembled my vehicle anyway and left it sitting in the back lot with no parts available. I had to get my insurance involved just to move the process forward.
The problems continued after the repairs. The paint began bubbling within one day. The inner fender well buckled, and Gerber blamed me, claiming I hit a curb. There was no damage to support that accusation.
A year later, I cracked my windshield and learned something even worse. Gerber had installed the wrong windshield during the original repair and used black electrical tape to splice the calibration wiring. The glass company thought they had brought the wrong windshield, only to discover that Gerber had used incorrect parts and improvised wiring.
This level of carelessness and poor workmanship is alarming. I am left wondering what other shortcuts were taken. I would not trust Gerber with any future repairs.

Incompetent service staff and regional management
I am filing this complaint due to a sustained failure in repair quality and professional communication at the Gerber Collision Western Avenue location, which has necessitated four separate visits and remains unresolved. It has been two months. The initial repair failed to identify significant damage to the rear unibody rack and suspension, which was later flagged by Honda technicians. Despite bringing this to the attention of the Western Avenue staff on February 27, 2026, my experience has been characterized by: Gross Lack of Communication: I have sent multiple emails and left numerous messages for the estimator (Ivan Hernandez) and the General Manager (Carlos Hernandez) that went unreturned for weeks. In one instance, I was told a manager would call me "first thing in the morning," but no contact was ever made. I’ve had to call the customer complaint center at least three times to get a response. My emails to Don Hauser Jr. my recent follow-up emails on April 15, April 21, and April 24 were ignored. The issue was then escalated to Lee Blank. Failure to Provide Documentation: I was told my vehicle passed an alignment test at the Western location, but I was never provided with the report. A subsequent inspection at Gerber’s Halsted location on April 7, 2026, confirmed that the rear tire toe alignment was, in fact, misaligned. The Halsted manager told me that the Western shop does terrible work and he is often called on to correct it. After asking again for it, I was finally provided with the paperwork from my initial visit showing that the suspension was in fact never aligned despite being told it was. My email to Don Hauser and Lee Blank still have not returned my email from April 24th.

I chose Gerber Collision & Glass in Kokomo, IN for my rear-end accident repair
I chose Gerber Collision & Glass in Kokomo after being referred by a family member. Progressive asked me to select a body shop following a rear end collision, and unfortunately, this experience turned into an almost six week ordeal.
I dropped my vehicle off on Monday, July 6. Liz was incredibly nice and initially told me the repairs would take approximately two weeks. The first text update I received listed July 29 as the completion date, but Liz explained that the date included extra time as a cushion and that my vehicle could still be finished closer to the original estimate. During the first portion of the repair, she provided timely updates, which I greatly appreciated.
On July 21, I was notified that my vehicle was ready. I left work early to arrive before they closed at 5:00. When I arrived, I immediately noticed several dings in the rear bumper they had repaired and painted, along with sharp corners near the wheel well that should have been rounded.
While driving home, I heard a loud wind whistling noise, even at only 5 mph. Once home, I discovered a hole near the bottom driver’s side corner of the windshield where I could see into the vehicle from the outside. Gerber had not been hired to repair the windshield or front end. I also noticed the front of my car appeared off center, with a larger space between the hood and body on one side.
When I reported these problems, I was told Gerber had only painted near the side and front, so they did not know how it could have happened. A Progressive representative who worked with Gerber then called me. He laughed while I explained the problems, questioned whether I was actually hearing the wind noise, and acted as though the issues must have existed before the accident. I drove the vehicle for approximately a week and a half after the collision without ever hearing that noise. It began after my vehicle had been at Gerber. His attitude was dismissive, accusatory, and extremely unprofessional.
I told Gerber I did not want to speak with him again. Liz assured me his manager would contact me, and Trae was wonderful. Trae and Marty met with me at Gerber, listened to my concerns, test drove the vehicle, confirmed the noise, and developed a plan. They agreed to repair the opening near the windshield, inspect the frame, and correct the imperfections that should have been fixed the first time.
After that meeting, communication from Marty was nearly nonexistent. I repeatedly had to call multiple times a day and leave messages just to receive an update, even after he promised to contact me. The projected completion date changed from Friday to the following Wednesday, and then to Friday of the next week. Each time, I had to chase down the information myself. I also had to leave work early four separate times, often with very little notice, which caused problems for me at work.
When I finally picked up my vehicle, there were still two dings, one on each side of the rear bumper, even though the bumper had now been repaired and painted twice. There are also two bumper pieces that do not sit flush with each other. At this point, I simply do not want my vehicle left at Gerber Kokomo any longer.
I would rate the final appearance and quality of the repairs an 8 out of 10, customer service a 4 out of 10, and communication and updates a 0 out of 10 because of how difficult it was to get information from Marty.
I sincerely appreciate Liz and Trae because they were kind, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough to make up for the poor communication, repeated inconvenience, additional damage that appeared while my vehicle was in Gerber’s care, and unfinished imperfections. This experience consumed an enormous amount of my time and caused a great deal of stress. I was the person who got hit, yet somehow, I feel like I am the one who paid the price for it.
