Fraudulent billing
I created a case on Galileo app on 31st Aug. I scheduled an appointment on sept 9. I was sent a form to fill my previous medical records and symptoms so they can address my concern on the day of appointment so I provided all the details. I received a call the same day after i filled all the details which was sept 5. I wasn't informed if he was the provider as the appointment was for Sept 9. So I answered the call and asked if I should proceed with this appointment or go for in-person visit. So he told me to go for in-person visit and didn't provide me any further health plan rather told me that he will proceed to cancel the appointment. So I was aware that the appointment is cancelled as per his words. Later on sept 25th I saw a bill of $175 in my united heath portal. If the appointment was cancelled why was billed. I called their support and they said that they bill based on case creation not on consultation. So why was it not mentioned anywhere on the call or on the app either. If you visit galileo website they say $45 for each consultation not case creation. Also if they charge $45 for each consultation why was I billed $175 with my deductible being $99 for no consultation or service.

Hi Gaurav, thank you for calling out this issue. I’ve reviewed your case and insurance and can confirm this bill was sent to you in error. We are in-network with United, and your deductible/coinsurance/copay should all apply to visits with our clinicians. We’re working with United Healthcare to understand why you were sent this bill - there is nothing more frustrating than a surprise bill. Rest assured this will be adjusted. We will keep you updated on any changes via the app; in the meanwhile you can email me directly at [email protected] with any questions or additional feedback.
