I purchased a 5-year home warranty contract on April 24th of 2021 and received an additional year free for $2,547.68. I had two claims within the first six months after we moved into our new home. Both were given cash in lieu, far below replacement value. (25% and 10% respectively) This was due to an undisclosed depreciation schedule. Appliances are believed to be original from 2007. It did not make sense to remain with a company that depreciates appliances when American Home Shield actually replaces the appliance with a new one, so I requested to cancel. I expected around $2,150 back, based on a monthly fee of around $35 a month. I was offered a meager $600! Not only did I lose the replacement value of my appliances of around $5,500, but I also lost $2,127 for having this “Home Warranty”! A one-year contract, which is longer than I actually used the service, would have cost $420 at the most. I also paid $80 in service call fees. I have reported this to the Office of the Attorney General for the State of New York for consumer fraud Case# 23-001 141-M1.

I purchased a First Premier extended warranty and it has been a complete disaster. My air conditioner broke down shortly after buying it, but First Premier denied my claim and provided a minimal compensation that didn't even cover the repair costs. They even deducted it from the hefty amount I paid upfront. Stay away from First Premier! They are a fraudulent company.

Working with First Premier is awsome. They have live customer and contractor representatives to help you and they pay out the same day the job is done!

STAY AWAY - first off, I am a Service Provider for many home warranty companies, I have been in business for 14 years and I pride myself in my work. When we signed up to provide service for First Premier I found it very odd that asked us to write positive reviews for them on many platforms before they would dispatch any work, that should have been enougo to make me walk away but I knew I could always change reviews later. So move ahead a few months, I have provide repairs, received authorizations and submitted invoices following the First Premier guidelines. Today I had another repair to complete for a First Premier client, I called FPHW in advance to tell them I needed to be paid for all of my previous invoices, I could barely understand what the person was telling me on the other line but I put the pieces together enough to know he was going to have someone call me back. Unfortunately I missed there return call because the number they called from was spoofed, they left a message so I returned the call to the number provided. They answered the phone and I said I was returning a call and attempting to have my invoices paid, the person on the phone said call back after 12:00est because they where not in. So to add more frustration to my already waiting to get paid now I'm being told that the person that called me back doesn't get in the office for three more hours. I challenged his statement and told him I was returning a call I just received a couple of minutes before. He rudely told me to hang on and transfer me to somebody else. When the next person picked up the phone, (TODD) he immediately said "what invoices have allegedly not been paid for", at this point I went off, letting them know their entire business is shady and I can see the reasons they have poor reviews. Todd decided at this point to let me know I wasn't going to be getting paid for the work and invoices I had performed and submitted under their authorizations. At this point I knew I was one of many tradesman that made this company successful because they make their money off the back of honest hardworking tradesman. I tossed in a few choice words to let him know what a crappy company they are and he decided to threaten me and invited me to come to New York to say what I had to say in person, yes this really happened, I let him know he can keep my hard earned money and I will share my story everywhere I can, and here I am. Please, STAY AWAY, they are crooks running a scam under the guise of an insurance company.

This company takes your premium then runs. I was stuck with the entire bill and the contractor held me responsible when these crooks left me hanging. I then called my credit card to file a dispute and thankfully got the premium money back. Scary company known to spend your money on fake reviews. Even TP caught them here.
