My refrigerator stopped cooling, First Premier Home Warranty (FPHW) sent a technician out and he said the compressor was bad. It would have to be replaced which would exceed the value of new refrigerator. FPHW denied my claim because they do not work on sealed systems and the compressor is part of a sealed system. Every refrigerator in the world works on a sealed system except my grandmothers old icebox that uses ice blocks. They state that they cover refrigerators and the vast majority of their failures are due to the compressor failure but not if it is part of a "sealed system" then why make the statement if only to mislead in the first. I admit I did not read the fine print in the contract, but when the major appliances listed includes "refrigerator" and all of them work on a "sealed system" one would expect this not to be a problem. Having talked to several other home warranty companies and not finding one that excludes the refrigerator for having a "sealed system".

This company has policies and practices in place that discriminate against people with disabilities. I am struggling with a hearing issue and multiple sales agents at First Premier refused to sell me a home warranty today because I can not physically speak with them on the phone. They emailed me with an offer which i accepted and then they refused to help me once I told them I cannot call and speak with them because of my disability. The first agent I emailed with just stopped responding. The second told me I can sign up online but the price will be substantially more ($47.99 a month instead of $35 a month for the same coverage) because it's not over the phone. I was having trouble with the website from the start and asked the agent for a direct link to sign up online 3 times throughout multiple back and fourth emails and he completely ignored every request but instead kept asking me to just email him my credit card info! I asked to be connected with someone who could help me if he couldn't and he ignored my request. I will be reporting this company to the BBB and ADA after I finish this review. If you can't speak on the phone to them you will get no service or more expensive service. This seems like a no brainer lawsuit. Ridiculously rude, discriminatory and unprofessional.
