A smoked up Nonsmoking room, inadequate bedding, dirty sink and bath, no phone, and no breakfast.
The worse hotel experience I have ever had in my 5-decades of travel. I don’t mind staying in a 3 star/out of 5 star hotel. I can take a small level of subpar, but my March 4, 2025 overnight at Extended Stay America Suites Fort Worth Medical Center was the WORSE! By Far! The Worse! No way this is a 3 star hotel. 1 Star is being generous.
1) Start with, my NONSMOKING room was reeking of smoke! I often puke when smelling cigarette smoke. I immediately went back to the check in desk to be moved. The clerk said she didn’t have a room available for me to move to. Huh? There weren’t that many cars in the parking lot and I passed by many dark rooms at 8pm from my assigned room of 200 when I walked back to the front desk. I find it hard to believe that there wasn’t somewhere to move me and my sister in a 97-room, two-story hotel.
An Aside: I saw the morning clerk accept cash, even though your policies say credit card only. “This property accepts credit cards; cash is not accepted” Is this why there was no where to move us and the one room did reek of smoke—no fine????
When I complained about the smoke (the green smoke just about blasted out of the room when we first entered the room), the clerk gave a lazy “Yeaaah” and then added “We tell people not to smoke in nonsmoking rooms but they do it anyway. There’s nothing we can do about it.”
• How about fining people, like other hotels do—I have signed into hotels agreeing to pay $250 fine if I smoke in the room.
• Your Hotels.com wording says: “SMOKING: The hotel is a non-smoking hotel, smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the building. If you wish to smoke you must step outside. There is a $250 smoking fee if you smoke inside the building or tamper with the first alarm” ***ENFORCE IT!!!!!!*** Have you read the reviews of the many people who complained about smelling smoke???????
• How about the maids when they enter the room and smell the stench, leave open the hotel door, blast the A/C, and report it.
• The hotel’s webpage touts that it is a NO SMOKING HOTEL. Tell the truth in your advertising: “We allow smoking in nonsmoking rooms.”
Resigned to the hotel room because we were past the cancellation time, my sister and I left the door open, despite the 45-degree weather, and blasted the A/C for an hour.
2) We noticed a blob of toothpaste and a few dark hairs in the sink. Yuck!!!
3a) The two double beds only had a total of 3 pillows. When I requested a fourth pillow—
4) oh, the phone didn’t have a plug, but you advertise you have phones in the room, you just don’t have WORKING phones in the rooms
3b) so I had to walk back to the front desk—
I was told the hotel was out of pillows. REALLY?
5) The beds did not have blankets—for that cold room on a cold night. Fortunately, we were given blankets, but thin ones, when I made yet another trip to the front desk.
6) The next morning, neither one of us wanted to take a shower, as the tub was just gross in color.
The extra big kicker was the so-called free breakfast, Served 6-9:30am. I went back to the front desk to get our breakfast. NOPE! Cold coffee and only enough for just one cup, until another batch could be made “10-15 minutes”.
I had my pick of three slender Nutri grain bars. Three. That was all that was out there. No fruit or even napkins. When I asked where the breakfast was, I was told “Greedy People.” Again, “nothing we can do about Greedy people taking it all.”
• How about put the breakfast items out in stages: 1/3 at 6am, 1/3 at 7am, and the final third at 8am.
• How about checking the coffee, instead of reading the newspaper?

A nightmare
A nightmare! If I could give them a zero, I would’ve. Please don’t stay at the Extended Stay of America in Columbia Corporate Park, MD.
I encountered major cleanliness, and damage room. The carpet was filthy, and the restroom was not clean. The condition of the property was seriously neglected. The amenities were not as advertised. I took pictures of the room because I couldn’t believe it.
I never stayed in an extended stay where in the kitchen had a label that stated , “For ventilation purposes, remember to open your window, while cooking”. I stayed at this place during the winter time, and the temperatures were very cold outside. The breakfast was just a muffin, and coffee.
The noise levels made it difficult to sleep. It was supposed to be a smoke free hotel, and in the room I could smell the smoke.
I was supposed to stay for 28 days and I left after 3 days.
Avoid this place at all costs!

They literally just want to take y’all money and expect y’all to deal with their raggedy hotel!

Very combative, and full of racism
Extended Stay America - Review (Poor communication, poor customer service and blatant Racism)
After deciding to move to Orlando, FL, I booked a 1 month stint at Extended Stay America. It was listed as pet friendly hotel with no mention of an upcharge during the booking process. They did however simply make an extra charge of $28/Day to my credit card WITHOUT discussion or permission.
When I Complained to the front desk, they had no desire to resolve the issue in a professional manner. Rather, they simply called the police to have me kicked-out- claiming that I didn’t pay the pet fee. (Which I DID pay because they FORCIBLY put the fees on my credit card without notification or permission. (That is what we call - Credit Card Fraud).
When they called the police they felt the need to call-out my ethnicity (Asian). It was the most racist moment I ever experienced in my life. (Imagine if you called the cops and said, “well, they’re Black so… what do you expect?”
The police arrived and were as racist as the Extended Stay Front Desk. Saying they couldn’t even allow me the required time to remove my property from the premises. I just had to “get-out” immediately.
When we went up to the room to speak to my CAUCASIAN husband, all of the officers attitudes changed in a split second. “How much time do you need sir?” Etc.
I thought moving to a Major American city would remove me from low IQ redneck and ghetto racism- apparently not!
If you like poor communication, underhanded business practices and blatant racism, then Extended Stay America is definitely the hotel for you. Tell your friends.

Cuando llegué noté que no habían almohadas me tocó ir a pedirlas y además esperé por ellas. A parte la habitación estaba oliendo a mucho Clorox pero estaba sucia la habitación. El TV no funciona no hay wifi. Muchas cucarachas pequeñas and do por todo lado. El aire hace mucho ruido y bota un olor a quemado terrible.
