I sponsored a 30 day stay for a homeless person at the extended stay off I-10 and chandler blvd in phoenix Arizona during record temperatures of 118 degrees. He was in the third week of his stay when the keys at the hotel stopped working each day due to the heat. His bipolar anger got the best of him and he got angry with the staff over the keys. The hotel asked him to exit immediately which he did and he left the room clean with no damages. He left to be back on the streets. The hotel and its manager Mark refused and continue to refuse to give back the 7 days left on his stay which he prepaid leaving him without $370 which is all the money he has to his name. Money that could help him eat and fund another short term place to stay to get out of the heat. I will never book a hotel with this chain again for their lack of compassion and empathy and doing the right thing during this COVID time. Shame on you Extended Stay.

Worst brand in America. Police helped me get out of room in Champaign Illinois, DV victim, front desk gave out room number, noise overhead, hurt while sleeping. Front desk people not helpful. Afraid to leave room ESA Tampa, Florida should have called the police, hole drilled over bed? Covered in sandy grit. Items stolen from room, bag searched.

Extended Stay South, Lexington, KY All I can say is: DON’T. Even though I called to confirm reservation, and called later to confirm late check in -with the manager, I might add - the night clerk REFUSED to allow us to check in because HE was having computer problems. He didn’t care that I had a receipt from the booking company that I had already paid for the room, and when he called the manager? She, too, bailed and made me PAY FOR THE ROOM AGAIN before they would allow my family to check in. Night clerk saw all 3 of us in the lobby, but assigned us a room with only one bed. Back to the office. Assigned a different room. We were booked for multiple nights and the manager had the audacity to call me the next morning, during my business meeting, to ask if I was ready to check out, as it was 11:00 and they needed my belongings out of the room. After my booking company called and spoke to the manager, I was refunded the additional charge, and I did not move my belongings, but their computer problems shouldn’t be my issue to fix. Many of my original issues may have been resolved with competent staff, but the overall property was dismal. Lights in the room didn’t work, spider crawling across the bed, carpeting felt sticky, sheets wouldn’t stay on the bed, chipped paint, rust visible...the property feels, and looks, neglected. Outside of being in the right location? This hotel has no reasons to be recommended to anyone. It’s not even the cheapest property in it’s location. Next time? I’ll stay at the Red Roof next door.

0 stars My review is about the Extended Stay America at Perimeter Park South in Birmingham, Alabama. I was in town on business and checked in after a long day of travel and meetings. The room I was given smelled like weed and was all around disgusting. There was some brown crust on the wall by the front door, and dirt at the bottom of the door as if someone took their dirty shoes and kicked the bottom of the door repeatedly . The air condition vents above on the ceiling had black soot/dust in and around them (there were two vents). There was rust on the heating range in the kitchen, and nasty crust in the corners in the kitchenette. There were long hairs inside the dresser drawers, a burn mark on the floor in the bathroom and I found a small cockroach crawling on the ceiling. I called the front desk the first time to tell them about the weed smell and black soot on the ceilings and was told they didn’t have another room that night or the next day. My room was clearly not clean. Mind you I had asked for a NON SMOKING room. The women who answered the phone only offered to have maintenance come clean the vents and ceiling the next morning. I was extremely exhausted due to the fact that I had been up since 5am driving from another state and being in meetings for 8hrs. I just wanted to sleep and decided to pull the covers back and immediately saw two large stains on the fitted sheet. I called again to tell the front desk that my sheets were filthy on my bed and was told I needed to bring sheets down to the desk! This room was suppose to be clean, so not sure why I had to bring down filthy sheets when I had just checked in. I pulled the sheets off the bed only to discover more horror. There was hundreds of hairs all over the mattress. Some looked like they could have been pubic hairs along with long female hair. There was also little black things all over the bed that could have been mouse poop. I immediately became sick at the sight of it all. I told the male at the front desk how disgusted I was and showed him the pictures I had taken of the room. I should have checked out that instant but I was extremely fatigue and exhausted. I took the clean sheets from the clerk at the desk and ended up sleeping in the arm chair. I wiped it down because I was sure what substance was on it since the rest of the room was beyond gross. The people next door to my room started arguing really loud and kept going back and forth thru their door. At one point I thought maybe security needed to come. The next morning after an uncomfortable sleep in a chair, I quickly checked under the bed to make sure none of my belongings fell out only to see dirty balled up tissues under the bed. I have taken pictures of it all as proof. I feel as though the owner should refund my money ASAP. The night person I spoke to claim to have talked to the manager about my room but so far they’ve only refunded the money from the other nights. Not sure why she has to investigate when I showed pictures of the nastiness. Thank goodness I ended up finding another cleaner hotel in Hoover. If you care about your health you should never stay here, unless changes are made. Some people honestly don’t care and just want your money. No one deserves to pay for a room and be exposed to such filth. The owner should take more pride in their property. I am not pleased and wanted to let others know. Don’t waste your time.

Both Tampa Airport locations (Beaumont St & Memorial) are a disaster---and the overall prevailing atmosphere is "NO" and "we don't" added to extremely rude and under trained front office staff....I could NOT leave quick enough! BE WARNED: No continental breakfast---no maid service (might be a blessing!)---no towels---no premium channels---no handicapped rooms or parking---numerous unseedy types loitering around premises.....PLUS high number of transient construction workers as patrons. Very ghetto-ish. Sound FUN? Or relaxing? Or even welcoming??? No to all three questions. I've stayed at ESA locations in Pacific Northwest and was highly impressed. NOT SO AT EITHER TAMPA AIRPORT LOCATIONS. RUN AWAY---

Horrible place horrible stay and the person named Monique is a liar and tells you fairy tales of nice things to come mean while the service is horrible. Was staying there cause of apartment fire me my wife had and we took our papers there that were not destroyed and they threw our marriage license birth certificates away our social security cards away

I kno a nurse that had to kill roaches and leave in the middle of the night, despite having to return to work at 6am to help with Covid. Extended Stay @ 2265 Mt Zion Pkwy, Morrow, GA 30260

This is the worst place to stay. Please do not stay here. This hotel will charge you fees and take money out of you account without your permission. Although the room is 58.00 they charged me misc untrue charges and were able to debit my account. They steal your money, the service is bad and the manager never calls you back to dispute claims. I had the worst experience with this hotel. Please run from extended stay hotels.
