Newark Airport-Elizabeth NJ. My 17 year old daughter said it reminded her of “5 Nights at Freddie’s”. No one at front desk to check us in for 20 minutes. No bathroom on first floor. No airport shuttle until 7 am. Elevator stunk. Dark hallway. Counter in kitchen was damaged. Hair in bathroom sink. Broken lamp. Mattress raised when sat on. No outlets by beds. Breakfast was weak coffee and stale muffin. Check out was drop box for key cards. I canceled my reservation for return flight.

Do not stay here. Terrible quality for the cost
I recently stayed at this hotel and was unfortunately not happy with a single day. First night I was put in a room where a pet had peed on the bed and smelled strongly of urine. The bathroom ceiling had some red splatter on it and the first towel I tried to use had hair in it.
A small complaint was that the tv remote did not work other than to turn it on and off.
Was easily moved to a new room the following morning.
The rest of my stay was in this new room.
The counters and cabinets showed a lot of wear and damage with one desk missing a drawer entirely.
The bathroom light was dim and buzzed loudly while on, though this bathroom had a nicer shower head.
Housekeeping came to my room one day while i was using the restroom, door open as i was staying alone, and had i not latched the door with that swing arm latch, they would have walked in on me in the middle of using the restroom. I had the deadbolt locked and that did nothing to stop them trying to enter without knocking or giving any warning.
The room did not have anything i could put on the door to indicate i did not want any housekeeping during my stay.
Each day was frustrating and to top it all off, i needed to extend mynstay fe a couple more nights and called the front desk to do so. I was quoted nearly 2x the cost i had been paying per night already and was very disappointed with the fact this level of quality was costing me over 160 per night at their normal rate.
I was reached out to by someone from their customer service center amd was only offered a 1 night stay for free, but itnhad to be mailed to a physical address and i would have MUCH prefered they simply refund me some of my cost.
The representative also never responded to any of my additional comments about my stay.
After this i looked around for a dofferent hotel and settled on a best western for 145 per night and the hotel is many times nicer and overall comfortable
I will never be staying at another Extended Stay America hotel again.

Would give a negative 5stars if…
Would give a negative 5stars if possible…made reservations with the 2420 Lamar blvd Arlington tx location….all the other hotels were booked due to gold cup soccer games…arrived at hotel only to be told they didn’t have rooms even though we had reservations…turned out to be the best thing ever as we were able to stay at laQuinta instead. Extended stay America has to be the worst company EVER..thank you extended stay for doing us a favor as the place turned out to be a dump…do not book or stay with this company…save your money and sleep in your car instead!

We signed up for Priceline ViP…
We signed up for Priceline ViP discounts and we had terrible luck. We signed an agreement with extended stay on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville FL for 1week and it was a nightmare. Like a zombie apocalypse drug addicts everywhere. I went to the hospital on the second night and then on the morning of the 3rd. Day a guy came to the room and made my girlfriend leave. She was waiting for a cab and left our luggage in front of the office and she went back to the room for a few minutes and when she came back all of our luggage was gone. She disputed the 5 nights that we didn't stay and she got a message from her bank that she will not get her money back. Ripped off. We called their corporate office and left a message 2 weeks ago and they didn't even call us back. If they just refund the 5 nights that we did not stay there we will remove this review.

Paid extra for king bed
Paid extra for king bed. Checked in and was not told a king wasn't available. Went to my room and asked about the king I paid for and was told they overbooked. I reached out to hotels.com to find out about a refund for the king bed and they claim to have called the property and was told I was given what was on my reservation. Big lie so I wasn't able to be refunded. No apology . Nothing

EXTREMELY SUBPAR DISAPPOINTMENT AND…
EXTREMELY SUBPAR DISAPPOINTMENT AND THEY DON'T CARE!
I reached out to Extended Stay America several times; they never even acknowledged me:
When I checked in my room was not clean; I had to ask them to bring me cleaning supplies so I could clean when I arrived that evening. (I have date and time stamped photos of drink rings, grime, thick dust, nasty stains on the carpet, etc., that I provided them). The front desk person brought cleaning supplies but told me I had to return them that evening when I was finished using them. I later had to buy my own so I could clean out a couple of the drawers. I even found a wad of chewed gum left on one of the lamps! This is a hotel that uses “Biltmore” in their name.
The next morning when I told the manager (Vanessa), she made me feel like I was a huge annoyance rather than a valued guest. She also told me that I would not get my money back if I checked out even under these circumstances because I had paid for the week a few months earlier. She then demanded that I decide whether I was going to check out, immediately, and informed me that if I did, I had to be out by 11:00 am (within 2 hours - it was 9:00 am). She further informed me that if I were to check out that the price would be revised to higher as I had received a discount for booking the full week in advance. I felt bullied into staying or lose the $few hundred I had already paid.
I also told them at that time, and 2 other times, that the bathroom sink didn't work properly, and no one ever came to fix it. I had to brush my teeth, etc., in the kitchen sink. Room service only checked on me one time. I had to go get my own towels, trash bags, toilet paper, and take out my own trash the entire week I was there. It’s also advertised as a smoke free establishment yet the stairwells, etc., wreaked of cigarette smoke! Not to mention the plume of marijuana fumes that followed the front desk person out of the office each time he opened that door to approach the front desk.
