Hi! To turn the timer on/off (to see the day count), press the timer button for 3 seconds. Pressing it for 8 seconds resets the timer. Sorry for the confusion about its functionality! If you've had the product for a long time and the timer no longer turns on, contact [email protected], and they can send a replacement! If you have any further questions about our testing data, certifications, how the filtration media works, etc., I'd be happy to expand and help you understand the science behind our filters! Hi Michaela, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the taste of the filtered water! Our filters are designed to take some time, as longer contact time with the filtration media helps with contaminant reduction. Initially, it normally takes around 15 minutes for the water to filter through. Is it taking significantly longer than that, like upward of 45 minutes?

Hi, the hole is intentionally small as a mechanism to slightly increase contact time, as longer contact time with the filter helps with the filter's performance. Let me know if you have any other questions about the filter's function and design 🙂
