Great variety of studies and they are user friendly. If I have any issues they have always responded to me quickly and have supported me. Overall great experience when you get approved for survey, interview, etc. Great selection of rewards as well!

Legit survey company that pays well
I have completed many surveys and have been paid for each one. It usually takes less than a week to receive compensation. I have been part of several survey apps over the years, and Emporia by far is the best as far as amounts paid for the time involved.
My only complaint is that often the survey will walk you through several "screener"questions that seem more like actual survey questions, only to be told I don't qualify. This happens often enough that I get suspicious, but I think that's more on the underlying survey creator / provider than it is Emporia.
I see many people that have issues with support. I have no experience with their support system, but I can imagine that it's not great.
Bottom line though, not a scam, and you can definitely make a little side money here.

Thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re really glad you’ve had a positive experience with Emporia and feel the studies are worth your time.
And you’re right about the screeners - those are created by our research clients, who set the qualification criteria for each study. We know longer screeners can be frustrating, and we regularly work with our clients to encourage a better participant experience.
We also appreciate you calling out the concerns you’ve seen about Support. We take that feedback seriously and are actively working to make sure participants can get clear, timely help when something goes wrong. Hopefully you won’t need us, but if you ever do, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Definitely recommend for survey opportunities
Emporia Research has been a great company to work with for surveys. I consistently receive more survey opportunities from them than any other platform, and the payout process has always been smooth. I’ve never had issues with payments — everything is timely and exactly as expected.
Overall, they’re reliable, consistent, and offer plenty of chances to earn. I definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a trustworthy survey company.

Unresponsive and Unprofessional
Emporia employs a variety of creative methods to avoid paying those that they solicit for projects. Tactics range from sending awards that cannot be redeemed due to technical glitches to terminating surveys after they've already been completed . If you make the mistake of performing any work for this organization, be prepared for non-responsiveness and the blatant refusal to pay for services rendered. Avoid this company at all costs! There are many reputable companies in this space but Emporia is not one of them.

Ghosted me with $800 pending rewards
I’m a technology experienced professional with 20 years of experience, on the Emporia platform over a year. I did participate in zoom research calls as well that means I’m a real person. I have also validated my work email in the platform which is fortune 14 company.
Suddenly Emporia suspended my account when I have close to $800 worth of rewards to be claimed which includes research zoom calls.
I have sent several emails to support team over past two weeks, they never respond or fix the issue.
I believe they want to ghost me and don’t want to pay for my efforts.

Hi Tech Nerd, we’re sorry to hear about this experience. An account being placed under review does not mean that any legitimately earned incentives are forfeited, and we certainly don’t want you to feel that we’re avoiding payment or ignoring your concerns.
We’re also concerned to hear that you’ve contacted Support several times without receiving a response. Unfortunately, we’re not able to identify your account or the studies you’re referring to from this review alone.
Please email [email protected] with your full name, the email associated with your Emporia account, and a reference to this review. We’ll be happy to review your account, the studies you participated in, and the status of any outstanding incentives.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Reward Disappeared, Support Disappeared Too
I would strongly caution anyone considering using Polis by Emporia.
I signed up, completed a survey, and earned a $50 reward. However, when it came time to claim it, the reward button mysteriously disappeared from my account. To make matters worse, I have been unable to get any meaningful help from customer support.
At some point, someone else's email address was added to my account, and another person's name appeared on my profile. Despite these obvious issues on their end, support acted as though I was responsible for the problems. I verified my LinkedIn account, added my Google email, and followed all requested steps, yet my account was flagged for "irregularities" and instructed me to contact support.
The problem is that contacting support is practically useless. Responses are either unhelpful or nonexistent. I replied to their last email on June 12 and as of June 23, I still have not received any response. Meanwhile, the reward I earned remains inaccessible.
A platform that collects user data and expects participants to complete surveys should be able to accurately manage basic account information and provide timely customer support. Instead, I've spent weeks trying to resolve issues that should never have happened in the first place, with no resolution and no access to the reward I earned.
Extremely frustrating experience and very disappointing customer service.

Hi LRD, we’re sorry to hear about this experience. The account issues you describe (including another email address or name appearing on your profile) can be an indication that an email account or login credentials have been compromised. When we detect irregular account activity like this, we may temporarily restrict an account to protect the participant and prevent rewards from being accessed by someone else.
We understand how frustrating that can be, especially when you have an outstanding reward. These restrictions are meant to protect your rewards and account integrity. The restriction does not mean that a legitimately earned incentive is forfeited.
We’re particularly sorry that you did not receive a timely response after following up with Support. Please contact us again at [email protected] with your full name and the email associated with your account, and reference this Trustpilot review. We’ll review the account history, the incentive, and the profile information you mentioned so we can determine what happened and provide you with a clear answer.
