Spamming, bait and switch survey company
I received a ton of survey invitations and when I finally went through one; I was required to refer someone. I wouldn't receive payment unless the referral created a profile.

Avoid unless you want to waste a lot of your time uncompensated. You can be 2/3 of the way through a survey, give one undesired answer, and it'll close on you and say you don't qualify. Unethical company that couldn't care less about your time and pays you only if your answers are 100% what they want. Out of about 50 surveys I've started over the past few months, I've been paid for exactly one.

Waste of time:They take your data and screen you out at the very end. Absolute scam-like behavior. They make you answer dozens of detailed screening questions, collecting all your data and insights, only to hit you with a "Survey Ended / Profile doesn't match" message at the very end. You waste a huge amount of time giving them valuable information, and they pay you zero dollars in return while keeping all your responses. This level of disrespect for participants' time is completely unacceptable. Avoid this platform.

I tried to answer to several surveys. Each time I spent 5 to 10 minutes answering many questions before I have been stopped in the process without explanation. So much time wasted, I tried but I won't try again !

I have not been paid for over $440 worth of surveys done and approved by the client. Update 9/17: My payments have been released but I am unable to login to my account which is why I could not redeem a portion of my payments myself. They have informed me that their engineering department is looking into why I cannot login.

I have been participating in surveys and interviews with Emporia/Polis for a several years now. My primary job functions in marketing but I have an additional LLC that supports many job functions at many companies. As such, I've qualified for a variety of surveys/interviews, allowing me to rack up a nice amount of incentives. Up until now, the process has been great! However, I recently tried claiming rewards and it appears my account has gone under investigation. My account is on hold and I've received no communication. I've reached out to support several times with no follow up. I hold this company in high regard and have really enjoyed completing surveys and interviews. It has actually made me better at my job, being aware of new offerings and providing feedback to products that are in the development stage. I will follow up on this review to share the result of this issue. UPDATE9/14: The team mentions my account is under review to verify survey responses, it has been several weeks now and I've asked for updates, but no response.

Hi James, Thanks for reaching out, and we appreciate your kind words about your experience with Emporia/Polis over the years. Your account was recently flagged by our rewards partner for potentially fraudulent activity, which prompted a broader review on our end. During that review, we identified participation or attempted participation in studies targeting a range of professional audiences that do not appear to align with the background associated with your account. Because our Terms of Participation require respondents to provide accurate information and only participate in studies for which they legitimately qualify, your account and outstanding rewards are currently under review. We’re happy to review any additional context you believe may be relevant, including the LLC and additional professional functions you mentioned. Please reply directly to our support team with those details so they can be considered as part of the review. Best, The Emporia Research Team
Paul
Emporia employs a variety of creative methods to avoid paying those that they solicit for projects. Tactics range from sending awards that cannot be redeemed due to technical glitches to terminating surveys after they've already been completed . If you make the mistake of performing any work for this organization, be prepared for non-responsiveness and the blatant refusal to pay for services rendered. Avoid this company at all costs! There are many reputable companies in this space but Emporia is not one of them.

I’m a technology experienced professional with 20 years of experience, on the Emporia platform over a year. I did participate in zoom research calls as well that means I’m a real person. I have also validated my work email in the platform which is fortune 14 company. Suddenly Emporia suspended my account when I have close to $800 worth of rewards to be claimed which includes research zoom calls. I have sent several emails to support team over past two weeks, they never respond or fix the issue. I believe they want to ghost me and don’t want to pay for my efforts.

Hi Tech Nerd, we’re sorry to hear about this experience. An account being placed under review does not mean that any legitimately earned incentives are forfeited, and we certainly don’t want you to feel that we’re avoiding payment or ignoring your concerns. We’re also concerned to hear that you’ve contacted Support several times without receiving a response. Unfortunately, we’re not able to identify your account or the studies you’re referring to from this review alone. Please email [email protected] with your full name, the email associated with your Emporia account, and a reference to this review. We’ll be happy to review your account, the studies you participated in, and the status of any outstanding incentives. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
