Lacking
Overall we enjoyed our trip but the rental process was not seamless at all. The amount of nickel and diming El Monte does is insane. You want to use the built in generator? that costs extra. You want to use the attached awning? that costs extra. Our toilet was malfunctioning from the beginning, literally during our initial walkthrough the representative had to slam his foot down on the toilet lever repeatedly to get it to stop filling with water, it almost overflowed while he was showing us around the rv, we happened to hear it and that's when he ran over and slammed the lever over and over to get it to stop filling with water. After a couple days of dealing with the faulty toilet lever it finally gave out all together and we had to keep the water off in the rv completely or the toilet would overflow and flood the bathroom. We had to do all the work to find a repair place while on the road and follow up repeatedly with El Monte's service line to get them to please call the repair shop and pay for the repairs so they would get us scheduled. We were without a working toilet and water to the whole rv basically for the first 5 days of our trip until the toilet was finally repaired. At return they comped us 1 day of the rental cost for our troubles. Nothing like having no running water or toilet in the rv for 5 days but they gave us back $199. I would not rent from them again due to these issues.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you were still able to enjoy the trip overall, but we understand how frustrating it was to deal with a toilet issue from the start and then spend several days without full use of the RV’s water system while trying to coordinate repairs. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the additional charges and the compensation provided, and your comments have been shared with our team for further review.
