We had a terrible experience. Our family rented two motorhomes for seven days, and on the first day, one of the tires blew out. We waited for support for over 48 hours without any assistance, with only one motorhome carrying seven adults and six children, one of whom was elderly. Due to this terrible experience, we returned the motorhome on the very first day.

If a ZERO was available
If a ZERO was available, I would give it to them. I am currently awaiting a response from the corporate team. My five-day experience was unbelievably a disaster, the location team had little to no response to my major issues and sent a third party contracted individual at 9:30pm that had zero experience, tools, or parts to even diagnose the issue and after two hours he left. I will give them the opportunity to make it right, if I do not hear from them shortly, I will post the communications and photos.

Disappointing Experience
We rented an RV from El Monte RV for a 5-night trip, and our experience was completely overshadowed by multiple frustrating and unacceptable issues, making it an extremely disappointing rental overall.
The Problems We Encountered:
Excessive Pickup Time: Despite having a scheduled pick-up slot, it took us an unacceptable three hours to get the RV. This was not due to paperwork, but rather a significant lack of efficiency on their part, as we spent most of that time simply waiting.
Lack of Cleanliness: The RV was notably unclean upon pickup. My kids' white socks turned black within a minute of walking inside, indicating the floors had not been properly cleaned.
Stained Bed Sheets: The bed sheets we rented from them were visibly stained, which was unhygienic and completely unacceptable.
Outdated RV Model: The RV model provided (Class A Pursuit) looked nothing like those advertised on their website or in their instruction videos. It felt significantly older and less modern than what was portrayed, leading to a feeling of misrepresentation regarding the vehicle's condition and features. Additionally, the wear and tear in the interior was simply not acceptable for the prices they charge and the advertisement they make.
Suspected Incomplete Fuel Tank: We cannot say for certain, but the gas tank did not appear to be 100% full when we left the rental place. The fuel indicator dropped very quickly shortly after departure, an experience that did not occur when we refueled the RV ourselves during the trip.
I would definitely avoid renting a RV from them in the future as it was not a positive experience overall.

Hi Michel,
We’re really sorry to hear how many issues you encountered during your rental. The long wait at pick-up, the cleanliness concerns, and the condition of the RV are all far from the experience we aim to provide, and we understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been for you and your family.
We’re reviewing what happened with the vehicle preparation, the linens, and the pick-up process to ensure these problems don’t happen again. Your feedback about the RV model and fuel level is also important, and we’ll be looking into those concerns with our team.
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback — it helps us identify where we need to improve.

Motor home was subpar and poor customer relayions
Motor home was subpar. Going over some rough road the MH starting falling apart. Fender fell off and the other one was loose. Shower leaked drenching our clothes during a rain storm. Finally' we got in a minor accident where a semi trailer hit the MH. It was the other vehicles fault. We provided your company with all the insurance info from the other veh. Your company did not pursue damages from them but chose to take the damages from our deposit. Said we could pursue if we wanted. Extremely poor service and customer relations. I will never use or recommend your company again.
Response from El Monte RVFeb 26, 2026
Hi there,
We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the motorhome and the frustration that followed. The condition concerns you described — from the fenders to the shower leak — are not the level of reliability we aim to provide, and we understand how upsetting it must have been to deal with those problems during your trip.
We’re also sorry for the frustration around the post‑trip damage process. We know how important clear communication and fair handling are, especially in situations involving another party’s insurance. Your feedback makes it clear we need to improve how we support guests through these situations, and we’re reviewing this internally to prevent similar experiences in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to share what happened. Your feedback is important, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

As a first-time RV user
As a first-time RV user, I was very clear when booking that I needed a turnkey experience—RV delivered, fully operational, and ready to enjoy with my family. Unfortunately, this was far from the case, and the condition of the RV severely negatively impacted our trip.
Here are the main issues we encountered:
• Sewage Line Left Unconnected: The sewage line was left on the ground, leaking waste onto the campsite. This not only created an unsanitary and foul-smelling environment, but it also made my daughter ill enough that she had to leave early. The neighboring campers were so disturbed that they ended up leaving as well.
• No Functional Fresh Water Supply: The fresh water tank leaked and never properly registered. We had no running water, which defeated the purpose of renting an RV entirely. It felt more like we were rough camping, despite paying for the convenience of a motorhome.
• Water Leaks from the Shower: The shower was not sealed properly, so every use resulted in flooding that spilled into the kitchen area. We had to use beach towels to mop up the mess, and ultimately gave up and used the public showers at the campground.
• Non-working Oven and Ineffective Refrigerator: The oven never worked at all, and the refrigerator never got truly cold—another major inconvenience given we had planned and packed accordingly.
All of these issues combined completely disrupted our trip, caused unnecessary stress, and even resulted in my daughter leaving early because the smell from the leak and the sewage made her ill. I trusted El Monte RV to provide a clean, functioning vehicle and a smooth experience. I’m very disappointed that this trust was not upheld.
That said, I do appreciate that every business can encounter issues, and I’m still open to being a future customer every year as we would like this to become a tradition with our friends and family—if the company makes this right.
Given the severity of the problems, I am respectfully requesting a refund for at least three of the five days of the rental. I believe this is more than fair, considering how much of our experience was compromised.
Best regards,
Vennus Zand

Japon: Fuyez, fuyez, fuyez!!!

Not what theyadvertise
An old, beat-up motorhome with plenty of scratches and dents—nothing like the photos online. We had booked the 'Premium' category, but upon pickup, the generator exhaust pipe was detached and the rearview camera wasn't working. Although they fixed both in a reasonable amount of time, it delayed our vacation. To top it off, they charged us the maximum damage fee for a dent on the side, which fell just below the insurance deductible. So, they pocketed $1,200 in cash but won't even fix the dent.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry to hear that the condition of the motorhome and the delays affected your trip. This experience did not meet the expectations we strive to set, and we take your feedback seriously. We’ll be reviewing this internally so we can continue improving.

I like how you say this time as for the trip I get there for a pickup and you locked up while I was at the gate then when I called the calf number they sent someone back out for the rental and by the time I got home it was too late to go that day and I still had to pay for that day also I had my own toll pass and did not want there's but was still charged for two tolls and a fee for using it and half way through the trip the fridge died and was told to get coolers that just ruined and soaked everything it seems like every time there is problems when I rent but this time was the worse I tried to contact about it and was mostley ignored and still had to pay the price Witch I feel is very bad customer service I would have think long and hard to rent again I am sorry to say
