Regarding the length, curly and spring curl textures tend to look shorter once installed because of their natural shrinkage and bounce. Our curly hair is further processed from straight hair, so the curly hair measurements are taken after the hair is fully straightened. For example, an 18-inch spring curl can appear closer to 12–14 inches when worn, depending on how tightly the curl is formed. For your next order, we recommend choosing a longer.

Regarding the bleaching and dyeing — you are absolutely right that the process can change the curl pattern. Because the hair has already been steamed into curls, chemical processing such as bleaching or double-processing will often loosen or relax the curl, especially with tighter textures. This is a common outcome for curly human hair once it undergoes strong chemical treatments. To help bring back definition, we recommend: Deep conditioning regularly to restore softness and moisture. Using a curl-enhancing mousse or setting foam to revive curl shape. Installing perm rods or flexi rods on damp hair and letting it air dry to reset curls. For future color projects, straighter or looser wave textures usually hold up better to bleaching and coloring without as much change to the curl pattern.
