Visited the Dollar Tree store for the first time and purchased four items. ALL of the items were defective. Went back to the store for a refund and was told that they only do an exchange for more things ... which might not work. Obviously wasn't happy with my first, and last, visit. Was told that it says on my receipt that only an exchange for other items is possible ... however, telling me this AFTER my purchase (on the receipt) is yet another sign of horrible customer service.

Hello, I recently purchased some mini doughnuts from your Bloomfield NJ store (4631) which turned out to have expired two months previous to purchase. The item was purchases on August 15th and concern was raised with the store on the 16th. The product consists of four individually wrapped packets, three of which were seeming still ok and were consumed, but whilst my child was eating a doughnut from the forth packet, we noticed it actually had mould inside of it and upon inspection, all doughnuts from the forth packet had mould present. This prompted myself to check the expiration date and to my shock found the product had expired in June. I raised this issue with the store on the 16th and was told to call back the following day to speak with the manager, which I have now done. I was told I could only be offered a refund at store level and instead told to call the automated helpline. This is a serious oversight which may lead to my child or myself or spouse, who is expecting, to become seriously Ill and the compensation offered of a refund is not proportionate to the hazard posed by this. I would very much like to here your thoughts on what can be done to avoid myself having to take this matter further. Very disappointed with the service so far, i have been passed from one person to another and am now being ignored. I will be left with no choice but to involve my lawyer if no compensation is offered willingly. There is no option to speak to a customer service advisor, no direct email contact, your Facebook messages will be ignored. This company will try to just brush serious issues under the carpet.

This store is absolutely wonderful when you're on a budget and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cashier was on the phone the whole time during the checkout. Slowed down the line with lots of people on the holiday weekend.
