My dog's first stay w dog vacay went really well. Jill and her husband were obviously dog people when we met them. My dog was welcomed right and Jill sent pictures and updates which I really appreciated.

While each host is different, and it is important to do on-site meet and greets and ask questions, I feel Dog Vacay is the best home boarding out there, bar none. The insurance is better than ever, with a lower deductible, hosts are screened, reviews are not edited and are from real people...just like on Amazon. Any time I needed help from Dog Vacay themselves, I talked with real people who really listened and understood me, were helpful, never rushed. Hosts I have met have been kind and professional. Dogs really respond to being in a home, especially to having humans around at night, which other facilities cannot provide. I have not used the sitting and dog walking services, but imagine they are also good. With many hosts to choose from, there is bound to be one similar to your home and lifestyle who can make your pet feel more relaxed if you have to be away, even for short periods of time.

All the sitters I have used so far were great. Brody has a couple scabs from playing with one of the sitter's dogs and they are areas that don't heal so fast, but the same thing happens at the dog park. Always received photos of him so I'm happy with the service.

Like the title says I didn't think I was going to use this service when I first looked into it, I was just curious because a friend told me about it. Once I started reading through profiles I found some great people, with the most important part great user reviews. We actually went with someone who had no reviews but seemed like a great match for our dog. He is a high energy hunting dog, 18 month old Vizsla, who also sleeps in bed with us and is basically a human shadow. So he is really not for everyone, but this couple was active, they run along the same routes that my dog and I do and said they would be willing to have a dog in bed and on the couch. We met the day before I was going to drop him off, they seemed great and took really good care of our pup. So bottom line, the site is easy to use, profiles and reviews extremely helpful; and are set up with key information that will help you find a person whose living situation and lifestyle will match your dogs. I have recommended it to friends and would use it again.
