DogVacay was a prayer answered when we needed to find care for our 7 year old, 120 lb, Lab, Tucker. At the last minute, our scheduled dogsitter backed out and we were left to decide whether we should cancel our trip (planned for over a year). I'd happened upon DogVacay about six months earlier and we tried again. Within two hours we had three available caregivers, each of which were open, obvious dog lovers and so willing to accommodate some of Tucker's needs like no crating, finicky eating, etc. We ended up leaving Tucker with a wonderful caregiver who encouraged us to visit the day before and completely understood our trepidation; she put us, and Tucker, at ease immediately and it was hard to get him to leave! I would highly recommend DogVacay to anyone who wants to develop a relationship with a caregiver and not stick their pet in a traditional kennel. I have put my German Shepherd in a kennel where they get let out of their cage once a day for half hour. Having my Shepherd in a private home that lives my dog and takes her out for walks several times a day is wonderful and gives me peace of mind that she is being cared for. I use the app to book and it is so easy to use the service. Highly highly recommend!

We were nervous at first because it was our first time leaving our puppy. He has severe separation anxiety. We were able to find the perfect people to watch him and were sent tons of updates and photos. The service was easy to use and I will definitely use it again.

This is a great alternative to boarding your dogs in a kennel. Our two dogs stayed several nights with a wonderful pet sitter. The dogs love getting more focused attention and getting walked several times a day. The site provides information about prices, yard and living conditions, size of dogs allowed and much more. I also like being able to communicate with the pet sitter if there are any further questions. The sitters usually take courses on pet sitting and go over the expectations required to do well. Overall, my dogs had a great time, we had a great vacation, it was affordable, and it is an easy to use website and mobile app. I would recommend this site as long as your research and find the right sitter.
