I have a 1900NCP model I bought about 7 years ago. The transmitter would turn off once I pressed any button. I called Dogtra in hopes that I could send it in for repair figuring there was a short or something. The rep advised that this is a common malfunction when the battery needs to be replaced. I ordered a new battery for the transmitter and receiver - problem solved.

Easy place to purchase products, and great equipment for the money! Have had my 2500 t&b for five years, and my shorthair puts it through plenty of abuse chasing roosters, and it still helps locate her when she's on point.

Good product. I am enjoying it very much. Installed it myself and the whole process was very simple, although I only used a shovel, it would be very quick and easy if you use an eager or trenching machine. I buried the wire between 4 and 6 inches deep, and the signal strength is still plenty strong enough to activate the collar. My only complain with the entire product is the plastic flags that come with the transmitter. The flags are worthless, so plan on buying an extra set of flags, get some decent flags at the hardware store or something. The flags are impossible to jab into the ground unless you live on a good course. There really are not many flags in the original pack either, so i recommend buying plenty and placing them no more than 3 feet apart until your dog fully understands and respects the boundary.
