Love it, Need it but Hate it at the same time.
This collar does the job well for my Malinois. BUT, make sure you dont leave on too long because YES it will burn your dog. I was mortified the first time and realize you just cant leave it in same spot or on dog to long.

Hello Ms. Dwyer, Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate the effort and time in placing one for our company. We would like to provide you with some more information on our E-collars. Our E-collars are not designed to not emit any heat, if you hold the receiver collar in your hand and the receiver box is hot to the touch please send the system in for inspection. Dogtra units work on “static electricity” which has a very low amperage and does not have the ability to burn skin or tissue. If you are finding that your dog has sores this could be skin irritation or Pressure Necrosis. Your dog could possibly also have a reaction to the Stainless Steel Contact points and is having skin irritation or it could be Pressure Necrosis do to the unit being left on the dog for an extended period of time in the same location or if its put on too tight, we do recommend no more than eight hours a day. If this happens, it can collapse the blood vessels in the skin, when the tissue is starved for blood, ulcers will develop in this area. Most of the time, the dog will also experience hair loss in this area. These ulcers look like a burn to the untrained eye… and can even fool an experienced Veterinarian.
