Dive insurance like this is a joke. I recently tore out my ACL in Bonaire. The adjustor asked for info, and it had to be emailed and faxed three times before they would formally reply it was received. They had me gather ALL the data through my surgery and rehab. Months passed, and hours of effort to do as they asked. Once they had everything, the SAME adjustor came back and tol me they would only recover my costs for treatment in Bonaire. Now, in 99% of the cases, the vast majority of the cost of an injury is rarely in-country. It is back home. My surgeon told me the same thing (he is a diver). My own insurance would have covered the expenses in Bonaire. It was a ridiculous experience, and essentially, I think the whole thing is a racket. If you have good health insurance, check before you leave what is covered. Indeed, many credit cards carry coverage for various things if you used it to book the trip. You don't need this sham insurance in most cases, and I will never give these crooks another penny.

We are sorry to hear that you were frustrated with the claims and communication process at the time, particularly regarding repeated documentation requests and coverage expectations. We understand how disappointing experiences like this can be following a serious injury while traveling. Feedback such as yours has helped us continue improving our communication and member support processes over the years. Kind regards, The DiveAssure Team

Hello, normally I never do this, but now I find it my duty to share my experiences with DiveAssure. Please follow my advice and don’t trust this company. I had a really bad experience with them. They do everything to shift their responsibility and not have to pay what you are entitled to as a policyholder. It is almost impossible to reach their customer service. They pretend that you don't exist. If you are really lucky and do get hold of them they promise you everything and make major professional mistakes (see below)! For months I’m waiting for a solution and asked several times to provide me a copy of my dossier to take legal action. They just ignore this simple question. Which worries me the most is the fact that DiveAssure is careless with personal data and the privacy of customers and staff! I received personal data and confidential medical information from another customer. In addition, I have also received the pay slip from a staff member in my mailbox. From this I learned that DiveAssure works with a call center in India and that they pay their staff a starvation wage. No wonder these people are unable to help customers! I do not want to think about what can go wrong in an urgent emergency situation… I hope that after this message you will think twice before you decide to join DiveAssure.

I bought trip insurance for the first time ever and was told to use DiveAssure. This was probably the biggest mistake ever. After spending $450 on it, I tried to file to get money back after a trip got cancelled. After a long wait, they denied me. Why you may ask? Because I bought it within "the 14 day period" prior to my trip. What was unbelievable to me was the fact that they ALLOWED ME TO BUY IT within this 14 day period but didn't allow me to use it. They have ignored me since they denied me when I asked for an explanation. Someone shouldn't be able to buy within the 14 days if it isn't able to be used. It should be blocked but instead they allow you to buy it so they can make their money. Ridiculous.

Quick and easy experience. Easy to use website. I had a question about my coverage and they replied very fast. Emma was very helpful and made sure that I had the right coverage for my diving trip. I got their program with the special liveaboard protection plan, which is also primary, which I like because I only have to deal with 1 insurance company.

Bad communication - wait times for response is ridiculous. No initial communication via website, had to resend email reminding them to reply after a week of waiting. Message to staff can take 4,5 days to respond. Still waiting on reply from last email sent 5 days ago. Communication is key. If it takes this amount of time to answer a simple question of whether it's possible to upgrade a policy. I would hate to think what the length of time would be to get a response regarding a claim. Will take out DAN insurance in the future.
