I jus got off the phone after listening to a rude DISH customer service representative, they tried to raise my bill and extra $42 per month, I called to find out why, when he explained that my 2 years promotion was over I asked him to disconnect my service, I was paying $78 for VERY BAD SERVICE, what makes them think I will pay $120 now? well after I asked for the service to be disconnected the representative got very loud and disrespectful, then he told me I had to wait another 7 days before disconnecting, I asked for a supervisor and he said the supervisor was no interested in talking to me, he proceed to cancel my account and charged me the whole $48 for 6 days of use, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

This is the worst cable Company. They lied to me on the original sales call.Said it wasn't a contract when i asked. When they came to install it they said i was signing a work order. Apparently that was a two year contract. Which i wasnt aware of. When i had to move they would not let me cancel and tried taking money out of my checking account. I returned the equipment and tried to work with them but they are ruining my credit. I am a 60 year old women and i feel taken advantage of. They have even made a deal with the credit bureau that even if i pay their extortion payment they wont repair my credit. I have always had good credit and paid my bills. Please do not get the dish there are many complaints with the better business bureau with simular stories. If i can stop people from going through the same experience i will. BEWARE YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE MONEY BUT ALL YOU WILL GET IS A HEADACHE

This has to be the worst cable company I have ever dealt with in my life. The people are rude. Their billing is the worst ever they try to gouge you every way they can. They want you to pay for their mistakes that they make on their billing which is BS. Do not use this company warning to the public you have been warned. They're cheap prices isn't worth the Hassle You spend on the phone every month dealing with These fools .They hire a bunch of uneducated kids.

Constantly lies about prices, no one ever speaks English so they claim they don't understand what you're asking, and most recently we were told the price of a package, changed the package, and now it costs more than what we were told including a reactivation fee-and a new bill came in 15 days. Why would I pay for 15 days?! If I wanted to turn it on by paying the minimum I'd get 9 more days. When we complained they said they would listen to the recording of the phone conversation and said that we told everything. Complete lies, which was also the second time they supposedly listened to them.

Comparison of cable with Dish Network: Dish Network is less expensive, and with a two year contract, they don't raise your rates every 12 months, as the cable company (Spectrum) did. Dish also has the most Christian channel offerings, though most are not offered in HD, even if they (like EWTN) are offered in HD on cable TV. A third pro for Dish over cable is that the Hopper allows you to off-load your shows to an external HD, so they don't auto-delete as the dvr gets full. Not having used Dish Network before, these obvious pros were what got us to sign up with them for two years. DN was also quick to send us the prepaid VISA card for choosing their service. But you get what you pay for, and these are the downsides that we have experienced in the first 2 months with Dish Network: * Customer Service: Cable wins: shorter hold times, more experienced and local (English speaking) technicians * Channels: Fewer HD, though lots of SD channels * Hardware--Hopper vs. Cable Box: the cable box wins: cable box was more user-friendly; had more user shortcuts and ways to speed thru menus, guides, and the dvr; and it did not screw up recordings. For instance, with the Hopper, sometimes when you have a two-part movie, it will not record Part 2 because it thinks it is the same as Part 1, and will not record it "twice" no matter what you do. I was on the phone with DN tech support for an hour trying to fix this issue before we went on vacation. Tech support was no help at all: the Hopper dvr would not record Part 2 no matter what we tried. To get me off the phone, the tech support representative told me, Oh it will probably record the show anyway. We did all the right things to set it up. Nope, we are back from vacation and it did not record Part 2, so the guy lied just to get me off the phone. He knew, by the down arrow that I was describing that Part 2 would NOT record, but could not bring himself to tell me that their equipment is flawed and cannot tell the difference between Parts 1 and 2. Honesty would have been nice. So the decision is yours: are the first three pros (i.e. lower monthly cost) worth having DN's lower quality: customer service and DVR usability and recording ability?
