Terrible Experience
Terrible Experience, Beware! I had a horrible experience with Discount Electronics. I bought a Dell laptop at a high price, and within two weeks it stopped working completely. It froze, then shut down and wouldn’t turn back on. When I called customer service, the representative was extremely rude and unprofessional. She refused my request for a refund and wouldn’t let me speak with a manager. She promised to send a replacement battery but never did. When I called again, she denied saying that, then finally sent a battery—but it was the wrong size. I ended up having to ship the laptop to their repair center. They replaced the battery and some other parts, but asked for my login password, which I was uncomfortable sharing. Just a couple of months later, the laptop started having the same issues again. When I asked for a refund or to take it to a local repair shop, they refused. I don’t feel safe sending my device back to them again, especially with personal and secure information on it.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced and understand how disappointing ongoing technical issues can be. According to our records, we worked with you over an extended period to troubleshoot the issue, ship replacement parts, and complete warranty repairs when the device was returned to our service center. We also want to clarify that while login credentials can be helpful for diagnosing certain issues, providing them is not mandatory, and customers may remove or secure personal data before sending a device in for service. While this case is now over a year old and outside the timeframe for additional remedies, we take concerns about reliability, communication, and data privacy seriously and appreciate the feedback as it helps us improve our processes going forward.
