Because Losing Him Wasn't Traumatic Enough?
I ordered this "Cuddle Clone" just days after losing my most cherished companion. All I was hoping for was a huggable urn. What I received was a horrific abomination. The funeral home mentioned that they would sew his remains into a plush as part of the package. I had selected one ($35) but my son found this merchant online and suggested they might be more accurate to his appearance. I deliberated for days and reached out to customer support with a few questions. The initial reply was empathetic and reassuring, and it ultimately swayed me to invest $300+ to hold my baby again. I opted for the rush and the finished product looked accordingly. Rushed. Except, it was almost 2 weeks AFTER I had placed my order and I had not received a word from them. I had expected some questions and correspondence before or during creation. I sent in inquiry and the response I received was that it hadn't started yet, but then another message trying to deflect the delay in my receiving it was due to USPS!?! The issue was that it hadn't even begun within the promised delivery window. I sent 15 pictures and took the time to fill in all the details (distinguishing features, measurements, even how I wanted him posed). Nothing about it was correct, except the base color. Cuddle clone? The feel of this thing is grotesque. It's rigid, rough and lumpy. Feels like my beautiful angel once the rigimortis set in and looks like it has been dunked in water. I couldn't bear to look at it for weeks because it resurfaced the trauma of finding the body. It feels like a cold, dead thing. It has lumps at the neck line, shags of fuzz on the ears, the hind legs look mangled and they have it positioned in reverse of the pictures and instructions. This was a disgusting experience with a company capitalizing on grief. I feel that it was just carelessly hammered out because I called them out on it being overdue (big upsell) and instead of showing some integrity and taking the time to create something compassionate, they tried to deflect focus of responsibility and cover their buns by rushing it. I am more than disappointed. This was an expensive experience, financially, mentally and emotionally. Updated 12/04/24 after viewing the rely from the seller. I HAVE reached out to them without a reply. It appears their public persona differs from their private one. Be wary.
