Don’t you ever think of joining this gym, they pull you with low rate subscription and then when you try to cancel they trying to charge you more, making it impossible to stop the subscription and keeping on taking money from your account and the bank is not even doing anything those corporations are disgusting and basically steal your money not allowing you to cancel this gym subscription even tho you don’t use it for months, crunch fitness is a corporation mob their gyms sucks most equipment is bad broken and not working, lazy trainers that just stand and talk all day trying to hit on girls seriously one of the worst places I’ve ever been in.
Went for few months got disgusted from everything over there like I’ve said, and after few months of me not going I see them trying to charge me for over 60$ so I’ve tried to dispute that cause basically it’s stealing and Bank of America seems to join forces with them allowing them taking money from your account and not letting you to cancel that black sucking hole that just want your money even tho they don’t provide the product and if you try to use their product you realize it’s it’s bad and all their gyms are broken and have lack of professionalism they deserve 0 star review, stay away from crunch!

$52+ fee to cancel after contract expired?
In 2023, I signed up for the top tier membership and was told I could downgrade at any time - this was false - there are huge fees to downgrade and to cancel. I was told to downgrade when my membership expired. I went in the day after my membership expired and found out my original membership was on auto-renew and since I didn't come in 10 days before my contract expiration, I would have to pay an additional month. On top of that, they charged me $52.49 to downgrade from to a basic membership and then I would have to pay an additional $49.99 annual fee, even when I was charged this fee a month 2 months earlier (Yes - charged the "annual" fee twice in 1 membership year because I put my membership on hold for 2 months so my original membership spanned 14 months vs. 12). When signing up, they do not provide you with information about their fees or show you your contract - they email it to you. When I saw my contract and discussed the discrepancies of what I was told vs. what was on the contract, the manager wouldn't budge - a $50+ fee to cancel an expired membership is ridiculous!

Lies and extra fees without proper notice!!!
I rate this company a one star because I can't rate it any lower. I was lied to about pricing and I never received an agreement by mail or email. I joined the Crunch Fitness location in Charlotte, NC at the Arboretum. I was told the price would be $9.95 per month with the first month free because it was a new location. After the first month I was charged $12.24. I stopped by the desk to ask about it and was told a processing fee was included. I told the attendent I was never told about a processing fee and he said everyone is charged the fee. The next month I was charged $62.23. When I asked what is going on, I was told it was the annual fee. Once again I said I was never told about an annual fee. I asked to see a manager but was told no manager was available. I was told a note would be put on my account and a manager would contact me. I went back twice to talk to a manager but no manager was available. I never heard from a manager. I talked with a representative of the company by phone and was told they would check into my complaint and get back to me. I never heard from anyone. Don't waste your time and money with this company, they will lie to you and not give you good service.

this place is terrible
this place is terrible. misleading advertisement targeting low income individuals by offering a free first month not mentioning that you are locked into a minimum of a year of paying a contract before you are able to cancel without paying $200 in fees.

If I can give them 0 I would
If I can give them 0 I would. I went today to see if I could find out about membership and how everything is going. Receptionist was so unprofessional he was itching his back while talking to me, I’ve asked about personal trainer and he said that there is only one and won’t be able to fit in my work schedule. Very disappointing and no customer service at all.

Lacking customer service
Crunch the company; has horrible communication skills. There are no avenues in which to speak with a corporate customer service question or complaint. The staff at the club in Auburn, AL are horrible. No one can make a decision, the club is a mess, a TV’s in the cardio area are tuned to news channels on both sides of the political spectrum. I come to the gym to alleviate stress, not to add additional anxiety. Machines are broken, moreover the club is dirty, but there are plenty of staff standing at the front desk on their phones. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed in the Crunch brand; what a fall from grace from the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Worst gym in DFW
I can honestly say, this is the worst gym I have ever seen. However, I want to make clear the in-store staff have been great. They are professional, courteous, and extremely friendly. The gym, unfortunately, is the “Wal-mart” of gyms, very low quality. The parent company is extremely dishonest and pushes very aggressive, deceptive, dishonest marketing.
The equipment is all brand new but not the newest tech. It is new, low quality, outdated equipment. The gym has not been open for 6 months, currently have low membership, but the seating on several machines and benches is already cracked and worn causing it to scratch you. If it’s this bad after 90 days with little use, can you imagine end of the year? They pride themselves on their amenities, but they are all gimmicks and poorly done. For example: Sauna is very small (6 adults max) and it’s not sealed. There is a ¼ inch gap under the door. The door does not close automatically. This means it’s constantly losing heat. Even if it was sealed properly - due to the small size - every time the door opens, all the heat escapes. Sauna temperature is around 85 degrees at best. They have a group fitness class “The Hit Zone”. It is separated from the gym floor by a ribbon, not a wall. When the class is in session the music is ridiculously loud and the instructor must scream into a microphone. Even with high quality noise canceling headphones it is impossible for you to listen to your play list while you work out. The class usually has around a dozen people so they ruin the experience for 90% of the customers (those on the gym floor) so the instructor can scream at 10%. Everything in the “Recovery zone” is cheap trash. The HydroMassage, massage, and cold recovery chairs are low quality massage chairs you can find in any nail salon. The Guest Privileges come with the catch your guest must be accompanied by an instructor. This means every time they come to the gym, they must sit through an hour marketing session. EVERY TIME.
They advertise $9.99 a month membership but that is false. In addition to the membership fee, they have a processing fee. I asked about this and was told it’s to recover the charge credit cards charge the gym. That’s a lie. If you pay cash, you still must pay the processing fee. There is also a prorated annal fee and an enrollment fee. You also MUST consent to receive emails and text messages from Crunch and their “partners”. This is them selling your information to advertisers. They say it’s a month-to-month membership, but you cannot cancel until your 4th month. They have a clause which states you must pay your membership if the gym burns down. They claim to have 400 locations but only three are within 24 miles.
There are multiple other failings but you should get the picture. To summarize: Great in-store staff, poor quality equipment, useless amenities, aggressive marketing, they sell your personal information.
