4-5-2024 Mr. Harry’s Unprofessionalism
4-5-2024 (Total display of unprofessionalism by Mr. Harry.) While changing clothes in the male locker room, this staff member made several comments in reference to the gym members saying to another staff member, “I don’t be playing with their ass when I’m mopping, I shut it down, if they’re already in the sauna they better stay in their, cause as soon as we don’t clean, they be whining talking bout the locker room ain’t clean enough.” So when I left out the locker room and was getting ready to get on the stairclimber, Mr. Harry came out and I attempted to have a man to man conversation with him. I asked him if he thought it was necessary or appropriate to be making those type of comments about the gym members in the locker where they can hear you saying those things because I found it to be rather rude, unpleasant and uncomfortable. His response was the members disrespect them everyday when they’re trying to clean up. I told him although you might feel disrespected, we appreciate what y’all do but we still have to work together because y’all trying to work and we’re trying to workout. But that’s no need to be unprofessional with those comments in the locker where members can hear you saying those things. He said I shouldn’t be over listening. I told him it wasn’t hard to hear what you’re saying when you’re saying out loud. He continued to express how he feels disrespected by the members when he’s trying to clean and they continue to walk in the locker room. And I told him, although you feel disrespected, that still doesn’t give you a right to be unprofessional. From that point on, he became very upset and put the mop in the room behind the stairclimbers. When he was walking through the gym, headed to the front desk, he was extremely loud and using profanity saying how he was a grown man and I had him fked up. He continued with that same behavior once he made to the front desk. He was yelling to the point where I could hear him all the way back to the stairclimbers where I was at. I went to the front desk and told him that the same way he was being unprofessional in the locker room making those comments, it’s the same way he’s still being unprofessional now. I told him that just because you’re displeased about how things go sometimes, that doesn’t give you the right to be unprofessional like that. His response was, that he didn’t give a fk and fk you mean. I talked with two other staff members and let them knew where this situation had derived from. They both apologized for his unprofessional behavior and I accepted. I told them that he appeared to just be a hot tempered person and it doesn’t appear to be any talking to him about his lack of professionalism. But I will be speaking with management ASAP to make them aware of his behavior. I wish Mr. Harry and I could have had a better encounter but I guess that’s not possible when one person is on 1 and the other is on 10.
