I was a royal customer for 15 yrs. or so. Unfortunately I came to realize that CREDO focuses too much on its activism rather than mobile service. Their customer service has gotten worse with little support. The billing is unclear. I think you can easily find a better and cheaper alternative.

Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. At this point we have spent OVER TEN HOURS on hold with them just to try to get a transfer PIN from them. At one point we actually succeeded, only for the transfer PIN to fail when we gave it to our new provider. We have now been on hold for an additional two hours. Do not EVER give them your business

If there was a no star choice..
If there was a no star choice... I have never done business with a company for years and years and been treated so poorly. Credo went to do a network upgrade, and my whole entire phone service fell apart! I spent hours on the phone talking to... NO ONE! they would put me on hold and then after 20 or 30 minutes of "we'll be right there" just hang up. I was unable to reach anyone. I finally emailed them to cancel my service, and lo! and behold, a woman called me the next day. She gave me a port out pin for my 96yo mother's phone, which DID NOT WORK. Then, they blocked my access to the website. I was nothing byt professional, but I did tell them how disappointed I was. I will need to go to my bank to disable the autopay so that they will need to send me a final bill, since they still have not released the last phone.
NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

After 5 Years with Credo
After 5 Years with Credo, I'm Done — A Loyal Customer Trapped by Incompetence
I’ve been a loyal Credo customer for over five years and had no issues—until now. I have an Alaskan phone number, which shouldn’t be a problem given that I currently live in the lower 48 and only travel to Alaska occasionally. However, much of my professional life remains tied to Alaska, so keeping that number is essential. Unfortunately, Credo has made it impossible.
After several back-and-forth communications regarding their so-called “network upgrade,” I was abruptly told that Credo can’t or won’t upgrade any Alaskan numbers. The only options I was given? Change my number (not an option) or switch carriers.
So I made the difficult decision to switch carriers. But now I’m trapped in an infuriating loop because Credo refuses—or is unable—to provide my Transfer PIN, which I need to port my number. For over a week, I’ve tried calling them repeatedly. Every attempt ends the same way: over 90 minutes on hold, followed by a dropped call just as it finally connects. This has happened at least seven times.
Their only remaining communication method is email, where responses are delayed and vague. They claim they’ve tried calling me, but—no surprise—they can’t get through. So now I’m stuck in a customer service black hole, and my phone will soon stop working altogether. I’m effectively being forced to lose my phone number, which is tied to my work, my clients, my security settings, and nearly every part of my life. The time and effort it will take to recover from this is staggering.
I can’t overstate how disappointed I am. For five years, I believed in Credo’s mission and values. But this experience reveals a stunning lack of support, accountability, and basic functionality.
If this is how they treat long-standing customers with real, solvable issues, I can no longer recommend them to anyone. What an incredibly disheartening end to what had been a great relationship.

BEWARE! Avoid Credo!!
I have been a Credo member for 20+years. They sold to another (unknown) company. They are now the absolute worst! Do not use this company. I was locked out of my online account for my password. Over 2 hours on hold waiting. No chat service available. They are upgrading and want customers to go through a complicated system to switch over. No customer service at all. I will be switching companies

Poor customer service that leaves phones disabled
In May 2025, Credo is changing its sim cards. My household has had 3 cellphones with them for over 10 years. We did as Credo advised, ordered physical sim cards from them, and then received emails about how to upgrade with e-sim cards. I followed those instructions, but that didn't work. I called tech support and they never picked up, although I kept the line open for over an hour, and they ended the unanswered call. I emailed their customer service. They emailed back saying they had tried to call my landline, but there was no evidence that they had called. Via email we set up a phone appointment to my landline. No call from them at that time, but then came an email saying they 'could not get through.' I emailed back asking what number they had called, because I'd been waiting for the call, had not received one, and there was no voicemail from them or other evidence of a call. Out of the blue, a customer service agent called my landline 90 minutes past the original appt. time.
We started working on phone #1. She asked if I wanted to use an e-sim and I said Yes. Then she found out my phone could only handle a physical sim. She asked me the serial # of the physical sim and I told her. Then I had difficulty removing the hard case, and her advice didn't work. Meanwhile, without my permission, she had switched phone #1 to the new sim card which I cannot install, so that phone is useless for phone calls and texts, and she said she is unable to switch it back to the original sim it still has stuck inside it.
So while I continued to work on trying to remove the protective hard case, I had my husband speak to her about updating his phone. On my own, I found a helpful video about removing hard cases. Mind you, Credo could have told us in advance that we could not use an e-sim, and they could have sent us videos on how to remove hard cases. But they didn't. Credo could not get their new sim card to work with my husband's phone, and during his interaction with customer service his sim card tray came flying out, and is still lost in space somewhere. And in any case, agent said she could not get the new sim to work with his phone, and a higher level tech person would reach out to him at some unspecified future time.
So meanwhile, I returned to work with the agent, given that on my own I had successfully researched how to remove hard cases. Then the tool Credo sent to dislodge the sim tray did not work. Agent told me to try a pin etc and I did, no avail. On my own I found a video about how to dislodge stuck sim trays. Meanwhile the agent suggested I view it and she would call back in 10 minutes. That was about 3 hours ago and no call back.
So I have made us appointments with ATT, after reading reviews on current 'service' with Credo, and hopefully all our phones will switch over to ATT tomorrow. Besides fairly high prices and poor cell coverage, there are no physical service centers with Credo, which is a real drawback with issues like this. It's like they try to train you, via email and on the phone-- when you can even get them on the phone-- to be your own techie, but you still have to find instructional videos on your own, and even then, the necessary servicing from Credo doesn't happen. And this takes hours and hours of our time, which they do not reimburse us for, and leaves us without any cell service on all three phones, though of course we are still billed as if we had active service from them.

They just don't care
They just don't care about solving problems or answering questions, that resolve issues. Their direction on pretty much anything is abysmal - their sense of urgency is non existant, they answer legitimate questions - with questions. They simply suck beyond belief but have good pricing, that comes... at a price

Don’t fall for this scam!!
Don’t fall for this scam!!! One of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever encountered, just to use their service which we chose due to their supposed donations to progressive causes. Could not get one of our phones to sync with their SIM card so contacted chat and it took awhile to get help. Then we’re told the wrong instructions so then had to call and was on hold for over 30 minutes. Person said there was an issue they could not help and would write a service ticket and would call us back but never did. Then called again, on hold for over 30 minutes again and then just tried to cancel to be done with it. We Never used the service and asked for a refund but they said the $90 was for set up fees…that never happened? Finally got canceled and then they charge us another final bill that they say will be taken to collections if not paid. Way to be “Progressive” Credo! They claim they donate to progressive causes but after some research, they give 1% when their CEO makes billions. Since they were bought out by a financial institution, they don’t care about anything but money. Don’t fall for their scam if you can!
