I'm glad I didn't give them too much personal information. When you read the "How it works" guide, they say to sign up and create your profile - nothing about charging money for anything. They wait until you provide your name and email address for creating an account, and then there is nothing available on the website except payment options. Given the amount of people reporting payments being taken without authorisation, I will give this business a miss. (This is a review of my experience with this website and not a request for support or conversation with the business. It is my personal experience and I will not be providing unecessary personal data)

Scammed me by instantly charging a substantial amount from my card (by somehow bypassing the authorization/confirmation process required by bank for all online purchases) the moment I clicked the "Verify my account"-button, which the site is clearly designed for me to click. couchsurfing is a sinking ship and seems to be nothing left but a site designed to scam people for money. Customer support refused to refund me even thou I contacted them immediately and explained the situation. I have permanently deleted my account.

Encore une fois un commentaire sur le fait que CouchSurfing sont devenus des voleurs. J'ai été débité 2 fois le même mois pour "cotiser" alors que je voulais simplement qu'on me vérifier. Du vol, des charlatans, je leur prouve par A + B que j'ai été débité 2 fois sur le même mois et ils continuent de me dire que c'est faux... vraiment dommage la façon dont ils ont vrillé

Vérifier son compte demande un paiement de 56 EUR. Je n ai pas été plus loin.

Cancelled my membership after one month - with no reason given, after I paid for a year's membership. Really poor. Taking money for a year and then cancelling with no communication for some indiscretion or another.

This was a volunteer ran community platform that became a scam through "verification theft". Also, they offered me a lifetime membership that I paid for only to attempt to charge me with a monthly membership two years later. Now, my account is blocked because I refuse to pay the thieves.

Non so come fosse prima che passasse a pagamento ma ora la community praticamente non esiste. C'è poca gente attiva, molti non rispondono, la maggior parte dei profili non sono mai o quasi mai stati utilizzati, sospetto che appartengano a persone che non sono più registrate. Lo mantengo perché viaggio molto e le poche volte che riesco a trovare ospitalità sono persone splendide, però questo non è merito della gestione che è semplicemente pietosa. Oltretutto mentre cercavo il modo di cambiare carte di credito ho fatto l'errore di andare sul profilo verificato, la schermata è nera e non si legge bene. Ho registrato la carta e mi hanno preso 56 euro. Spiegata la situazione l' assistenza ha rifiutato di rendermi i soldi propinandomi la retorica dell' esperienza umana che offre la loro community...peccato che questo non sia affatto un loro merito. Mettono a disposizione una piattaforma poco funzionale, con pochi contatti reali, cercano di spillare soldi strumentalizzando i valori di Couchsurfing.
