Oh, I wish I could give this a below five stars. This company has misled me and told me anything. I wanted to hear. I had a beneficiary account here and I asked for a verification letter which they could not produce so I asked them to take my funds out instead of returning to my bank account they send it to the state And they know I was trying to Refinance, you will get a different answer from different people with different time frames and they love using the word expedite. They will expedite everything which means they’re not gonna do nothing and please do not ask for a supervisor they know less and will miss lead you., anybody that has this company should hurry and run before it goes under

The worst online app I have ever used
The worst online app I have ever used. They manage one of my retirement accounts. Login process is always unreliable - sometimes take a few tries to get in. Other companies usually update the daily balance by 7pm, but this company never update the balance before 10pm, and sometimes until next day or even over the weekend

Horrible Annuity Customer Service
I have had an annuity product from AIG since 2009. Whenever I needed questions answered, I could always call my financial advisor, but it was just as simple to contact an AIG annuity representative and get precise and knowledgeable answers, usually from the first rep that took my call, and the occasional time I would get transferred to a person who had more experience with my specific type of annuity with a MarketLock feature. I would have rated their service 5 stars. But then something happened a few years ago when Corebridge was spun off. Now it became almost impossible to get a rep who knew even the most basic answers. Hold times stretched to 15-20 mins while they found me a more senior rep that still had difficulty getting me the answers. A year ago I started taking withdrawals as part of my planned retirement income, about half of the Maximum annual Withdrawal Amount. It took 3 tries with different tax withholding forms for them to finally get my state withholding request entered correctly, and in the meantime I had received 3 mos of withdrawals where there had been zero tax withholdings for either Fed or state. As recently as this past week I wanted to confirm the percentage of withholding taxes on my withdrawals, as I was thinking of rebalancing them after reviewing my 2024 tax returns. The federal amount was what I remembered it, but the rep insisted that the state withholding was 30%. Now that is absolutely ridiculous because that is not the amount actually being withheld. I finally found a quarterly statement and did the calculation myself. And still the agent said I was wrong, that their computer had it as 30%. I told them it was incorrect and ended the call. Today I received a statement that made me suspect the MarketLock Income Plus feature had not reset on the recent anniversary date. I dreaded making a call, but after spending 20 minutes trying to explain to the first agent that answered what my concern was and her putting me on hold "to research that," and when she finally came back and said here's the information, but she just restated what the MarketLock Income Plus feature was supposed to do but had no information about why my account didn't show that activity on the anniversary date. I finally insisted on speaking to a supervisor. She said she would put me in a queue for a supervisor but I would have the opportunity to request a return phone call instead of being on hold if the wait time was long. She transferred me but the queue was only music. No message saying how long the hold time would be or to request a return call. I decided to wait and see what would happen. 20 mins and a supervisor answered. So now my overall call time with Corebridge is over 40 minutes. I explained what I wanted to know, I could tell from the limited conversation that she had no idea what a MarketLock income Plus rider meant, and she would like to research it and call me back the following day. It was still 2 hrs until her shift ended, but she didn't think she would have the answer I was looking for in that period of time! Where are all the annuity agents? What happened to the knowledge base? If it weren't for some of the specifics of this policy I would be looking for another annuity company in a heartbeat. And it is not just "my bad luck" with the agents. My financial advisor also dreads contacting them. They receive the same poor customer service and half answers from Corebridge. We joke that if you call 3 times and ask the same question you will get 3 different answers! Financial services should NOT BE A JOKE. This is real money for customers and it is scary to think that a company is being managed so poorly that their agents cannot answer even the most straightforward questions about their annuity products. I will update this review after/if I get the return phone call.
Update many days later on 5/2/25. No return call. I called and was eventually transferred to a Living Benefits supervisor. After explaining the MarketLock rider to her, and having her look at several previous years statements clearly showing the annual MarketLock value step up, she said she would have to investigate and call me back within 1-2 business days because of the weekend. I'm writing this on 5/5 end of day 1. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Had a term life for 20 yrs
Had a term life for 20 yrs. I opted to go with a different company at the end of my term for my next policy. I called and told Corebridge to cancel at the end of the last month of my term. I then got multiple letters saying my plan would renew for a new higher rate. I called back to confirm my cancelation and the company confirmed it and told me to disregard any future letters of auto-renewal. Weeks later I still get auto-renewal letters. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing with Corebridge. Stay away!

Try to collect your death benefit
This is the last place you want to purchase an annuity. Collecting a death benefit as an executor and beneficiary was a nightmare. Their customer service is in the Phillipines and after many months of phone calls and mailing and uploading tons of documents I was finally able to convince someone to process the beneficiary claim.

TERRIBLE COMPANY-DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
First, I want to say I very rarely write a review, and I have never written a bad review in my life. However, I truly feel the need for people to know about this company. My parents purchased a cancer policy with American General Life (Now Core Bridge Financial) in 2004. They have paid 98.74 for over 20 years. A total of over 23,000 dollars. A few years ago, I made a simple claim for skin cancer for my mother and received 1000+ dollars. Before they paid, I made multiple calls, had requested to speak to a supervisor, and even came to the verge of hiring a lawyer. Then, they paid. Now I am requesting a copy of their policy to see what it covers because my father has Lung cancer. They refuse to send me a copy without filling out a form that says, "I agree that it completely replaces the original policy and replaces any previous duplicate policy". Today, I verified all my information, DOB, Social Security, Policy Number, Phone number, address, and when asked for my bank info. I declined to give that info. The lady HUNG UP on me! I called back and the gentlemen stated that it would be the same coverage but different paper. This is the 4th person I have spoken to and the only one to tell me this. Then he proceeds to tell me that my mom's social security is wrong after 20YEARS, and I need to send a copy of my social. I highly recommend anyone looking at this company for any type of insurance to go with someone else. It is extremely too difficult to get your claim paid, get a copy of your policy, or even speak to someone competent enough to help. Each phone call results in 15 min of looking to make sure they have permission to speak with me, and then they always say that it is pending to give 7-14 more days, after that they find another reason to delay. Today they can't even tell me what forms are needed to request mileage reimbursement that the policy states they should receive!! I am angry that this is how they treat their customers after 24 years!!!! No elderly person could possibly get a claim paid from this company. I am seeking legal counsel for all of the premiums my parents have paid in. If I could give 0 stars, I would!!!!!!

This is a horrible company!!!
This is a horrible company!!!! They have offered zero help after my grandmothers death. They will not distribute funds. Each time we call they give a different excuse. They also sent all of our paperwork to a stranger at a random address. This has been the worst experience. To make it even harder, NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH!
