Hi Kayla, It’s been a while since I engaged with Copymind but what I can tell you is that I have been in “traumatic grief” as the result of my having lost my 24 year old beloved grandson, Jake, of whom I was his main caretaker and just adored! Jake was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 17 which resulted in a 5 year journey in and out of a variety of psych wards where I visited him everyday. I had been a psychology major and due to my own traumatic childhood, I’ve spent most of my life exploring psychology. What I witnessed with Jake and the other inpatients, led me to more intensive research through those five years and beyond. The most vulnerable people in our society are diagnosed solely by their symptoms without brain scans which the very definition of an “illness” is that their is physical proof. Being locked up in these institutions in itself is deeply stigmatizing and adding to that patients were gathered to watch videos telling them that their “illnesses” were lifelong and incurable—this despite my research revealing that people recovered and healed in other countries whose protocols were very different. You can look up research on the treatment of mental afflictions in Lapland, Finland. “Treatment” in the U. S. soley consists of prescribing psych meds that cause the very symptoms they are purported to treat. Every one of them had suicidal ideation as a “side effect!” I came to find that these meds were basically heavy duty tranquilizers that numbed out feelings and resulted in a zombie like effect that I’d witnessed in both Jake and the other patients. This also produced a swinging door affect causing people to wean themselves off (psychiatrists notoriously do not affirm requests to wean off given their ideology that these mental “illnesses are lifelong). Abruptly taking oneself off of these meds produces very intense symptoms like the ones that led to the original diagnoses causing released patients to wind up back in these institutions. Therapy in these institutions consisted of a daily meeting with a psychiatrist who spent 10 -15 minutes discussing the effectiveness of the drugs given and often switching them if perceived that they weren’t working. There was no discussion of trauma as the cause, which in Jake’s case was a huge factor. Both of his parents were addicts at the time and he was sexually violated by a teenage neighbor and the teen’s father when he was 10. (This was revealed to us many years later when Jake crying hysterically told us about) Through my exploration into all of this, I came upon Dr. Gabor Mate, a former physician and now addict & trauma therapist. He believes that early child trauma is the cause of all mental afflictions and many physical ailments as well. I’ve come to believe that traditional talk therapy is ineffective due to the lack of trauma training as well as that trauma resides both in the mind and the cells in the body. While this is a very long response to your inquiry for me to give my feedback, I felt compelled to do so. Your asking this of me led me to believe that you really care and want Copymind to be a successful healing tool. If I can do anything to help bring this to the attention of people in this field, I am glad to do so in the hope that the understanding might make a difference. Given the intensity of my depression and despair, Copymind and traditional therapy did not provide the motivation to pursue. Hope this helps somewhat! Sincerely with warm regards, Joy

I used to reluctantly go to psychotherapy and have a person nod and smile and encourage me while they were probably thinking about where they were going for lunch. The computer actually listens and doesn't forget what I said last week.

An amazing discovery! Customer service has exceeded my expectations. Shoutout to Kayla, a superstar in her own right! I am new to this product and fumbled onto it through Facebook, it has been delightful how I can bounce ideas off my "twin". It is amazing and I imagine people are using it for many different topics and at different levels. Definitely an amazing discovery that makes me think and reflect outside the box. I believe it would also be very comforting and useful in times of challenging situations that can be stressful. I am loving it.
