I am happy with the water pitcher and dog bowl because they are naturally tarnishing which tells me they are real copper. The water bottle however is a different shade and does not tarnish inside or out which makes me think that it is coated with something that negates the claimed health benefits and concerns me with what harm the coating is doing to my body.

Hey Amanda :) We’re so glad to hear you’re enjoying the pitcher and water bowl! All of our products have a protective finish on the outside to help them maintain their beautiful shine longer. The insides are always completely unlined, pure natural copper (99.95% pure, with third-party lab results on our homepage), because the copper has to touch the water directly to work its magic. The inside of a bottle can tarnish more slowly than a pitcher or bowl because it’s sealed off from air and never touched by hands, or pet saliva, which are what speed up tarnishing. It will still darken gradually over time. If you’d like to see for yourself, you can rub a little lemon juice and salt inside and you’ll see the bare copper react, which wouldn’t happen through a coating. Hope this helps explain 💜☀️
