Received the wrong item and had to turn. They emailed shipping label, but I had to take my time and expense to package up and drive 18 miles to send . Got no compensation for this . They did sent out correct item quickly.

I've ordered 2 items through cooksdirect.com & both items were delivered broken. Whilst dealing with customer service I thought I was going to have to run errands & buy extra packaging. I informed customer service that this wad inconvenient for me. Customer service replied "I mean, your just being asked to return broken product." I am unhappy with this response & I find it rude.

We were unaware that you received your replacement damaged and would be more than happy to resolve this matter for you immediately. Also, by the manufacturer, you were instructed to package the first shipment in the replacement packaging and you responded by stating that would be easy and that you would ship it back to the manufacturer. The manufacturer requested the damaged item be shipped back so that they may analyze and determine if it was freight damage. We apologize on both behalf's if this was a hassle for you. We were unaware of this by you stating this would be easy for you. However, again we do apologize and will be contacting you immediately to resolve the issue with your replacement. I placed on order online, a week later the status said pending. When I reached out to find out the status, no one got back to me so I had to source the item somewhere else as we were out. A couple of hours after I picked up some of the item locally, my order showed up. A day after that I received the shipping confirmation. This just isn't acceptable.

If you ask me if the merchandise is exactly what I wanted then I'm forced to pull from a mixed bag of results. Let's start with what I bought. I shopped all across the web in numerous nooks and crannies to find a slim trash can with a swinging lid in the desired color match of Brown & Brown. What I ordered or rather what I thought I ordered was a brown lid with a beige top along with a slim Brown trash can. What I got was The Brown lid with the beige flap. The trash can was on backorder. No estimated time for delivery just back order. What I ended up getting was a beige trash can to go with my Brown lid. This came approximately a week and a half after the actual lid. Unto itself this really wouldn't have bothered me. When I did get the trash can and it was the wrong color I was in a real Catch-22 position. The beige flapper and the base can matched well enough to our paint scheme that I decided to keep it rather than hassle with another reorder. Additionally the model number of the can did not appear to match the model order number. Somewhere in a great internet search I found that the old model number had been discontinued and a new model took its place. Personally I really didn't care what the model number of the item was I just wanted the one that was brown. I I was very disappointed with the experience. Most of my disappointment Falls under the fact then it took way longer to get this item then it probably should have. I had other sites I thought about ordering this from but Cook's Direct had the best shipping bargain. It's unfortunate that that bargain didn't extend to order accuracy.

The item I ordered was not available until April 2016 but that was not made clear on my receipt. Additionally, my credit card was charged immediately.

I do want to point out that on the product page we indicate that if the product is purchased after 11/2015 that it will be shipping in April of 2016. Unfortunately, this is not up to us as this product is highly sought after and essentially everyone in the industry is waiting on more stock. Additionally, your credit card being charged upon checkout is also mentioned at the checkout page (we indicate that all orders are charged at time of checkout next to the credit card entry form). Cooks Direct didn't have a pan in stock despite no warning of this state of affairs on the Web site. Then I got an email saying that it wouldn't ship until November. Had to call to get the money refunded to my credit card, but they did make that happen. Probably won't use these folks again.

I would like to state that this pan is out of stock everywhere and isn't set to arrive back in stock until late November for most everyone that sells it. Our site had a "Ships in late Oct/early Nov" ETA posted on the product pages since the first week these items were listed in Cook's Illustrated but that being said, I do understand the situation. I fear that if you ordered the product now that you might have to wait even longer to receive it (from anyone) but if you'd like to speak a bit about it, feel free to contact me and I can see what we can do for you (provide a discount, etc.).
