compassmining.ioReviews of compassmining.io

Total scam, just save yourself some money and time and walk away. No this is not slander my miner has been offline for over a year since I bought it, I will NEVER EVER recover my investment. YOUR COMPANY has failed to provide basic service PERIOD.

After 2 years of trying to get my 10 miners working got about 4 working all the time. Rest is in some kind of transition from one farm to another farm and to the next. Constant delays. one delay after another after another, after another, after another, after another, after anther. If you still think it is a good idea to work with them, read the last sentence 5 times.

Compass.io it is a scamm. Avoid them all cost!

UPDATE 1: My miner has been offline for 4 months already. I was told my miner would be sent for repair at once when my miner stopped hashing, then I was told they misplaced my miner and it never left Ontario facility, it was just gathering dust for 2 months. Then they tell me the miner will stay in Ontario and a repair technician would repair it in 2-3 weeks. It was not repaired. Now they are telling me my miner is being repaired right now, but somehow cannot give an estimate when it will be done repairing. THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED ONE BIT!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Compass Mining is borderline a scam. They do as they wish with your miners. Your miners will mine when they want them to mine. They do not answer any tickets. Compass customer service decided to change my miner name. I told him not to touch my miner not to change anything or my mi er would stop mining. He disregarded everything I said and did exactly what I told him not to do. Now my miner is offline he closed the ticket without even realizing that when he changes the name the miner stopped mining. They do not care about you after you buy the miner from them. Once they receive your money you no longer matter. All they are going to do is send emails for half of the month telling you to pay you fees while your miner has been offline for the past 2 months. They do not answer tickets. If they do its weeks later and don’t even help in any way. I had no problems with the deployment’s of my 2 miners, they were fast with that. But it's no use when the miner is mostly offline. They tell you they will give you 95% uptime. That is a lie. I am desperate to sell those miners right now. I want nothing to do with comoassmining.io don't wast your money, host somewhere else. I will be selling my two miners with compass and buy them elsewhere. Never ever in your life consider compassmining, you will regret it horribly.

"Now everyone can mine bitcoin" - it's a great vision, but unfortunately Compass as a company is not capable of executing on this vision. Below are some of the issues I've experienced - having talked with other customers, I consider this to be an *average* experience, meaning there are some who have had a MUCH worse experience: -Initial delays (1-2 months) getting the miners online -Relocating the miners when a facility got closed, leading to another month of downtime -Most recently, miners have now been offline for close to 3 months due to an issue with the new facility with no ETA on when they will be back online. Support continues to provide conflicting information; they literally cannot tell me where the miners are, where they will be relocated to, or when they will come back online. -Despite the machines being offline, they just sent a threatening email noting that I haven't paid the latest monthly invoice, and they've added a late fee to my account. But the machines are offline! It is simply not worth the heartache you will go through as a Compass customer. You're far better going with a smaller provider that actually owns the facilities. Don't make the same mistake many of us have - the next halving is fast approaching, and many of us are completely left out to dry by this company.

Absolutely disappointed with the service I received here. I brought in my Bitcoin mining ASICs expecting professional and efficient repairs. Not only did they take far longer than initially quoted 1-2 weeks was promised me in a message and now i am still waiting after 6 month. Upon questioning, the staff seemed clueless about the complexities of the hardware. I wasted both time and money, and now I'm set back even further in my mining operations. Would not recommend to anyone serious about their Bitcoin mining endeavors. If you value your equipment and time, look elsewhere.

I bought 2 miners in about June or July 2021. Those miners were slated to go online in about November 2021. They came online in about February of 2022 and I was given a year of free hosting for those two miners. Later that spring I bought 3 more miners. In July I had 4 or 5 miners up and running, but two weeks later 4 of the miners went down and stayed down for over 6 months. I then had 1 miner up and running intermittently and 4 of the 5 miners were always in transit somewhere else in some big project they were working on according to the support people. It is now August 2023, and one of my miners broke in like March or so 2023 and I forfeited that miner. I was trying to sell the three miners that I had bought, each of them costing about 7 to 8 thousand dollars a piece. But they wouldn't let me sell them, but one of them ended up breaking down. So now I have 4 miners on my hashing schedule. The 5th miner I had purchased finally came online I think in December 2022, the last two miners I bought were newer ones like 100 tH/s 3050 watts barely used or new and these were cheaper than the others since the price of BTC had gown down so much over the years. So I never really got to use my year of free hosting because they kept those miners offline for nearly a year. And then when I asked for my year they said that that was for the prior year. And now they bill me for hosting fees for 4 miners, but only 2 of them really actually seem to work. I tried to sell the two that do not work, but I became "unverified". And because I refused to pay for hosting fees for miners that do not work or seem to ever be on they have stopped all the miners I own from hashing. And I would have to spend about 1500$ to get them to start hashing again. I've spent 35k on miners and maybe 20k on hosting fees, but alot of what I was spending was downtime credits because my miners were literally always down for months and months and months and months etc.

Update 6/17/24 I take back all the good things mentioned below. This company is a fraud. STAY AWAY! I'm using simple mining now and much happier. I've been with Compass mining since June 2021. It was rough at first. Delays relocations, etc. They've turned things around for me and made it right. I've bought some more miners recently and I'm happy with the uptime and customer service. They seem to be continually improving and I'm excited to see where we go from here
