Not a Japanese style futon, it's a heavy cotton mattress
After 10 months, I'm giving the Comfort Pure 6" queen cotton and wool futon 2 stars because it feels like some false advertising. It is *not a Japanese style futon*. It is a Gold Bond brand Western style thick, heavy cotton mattress. The cotton was stuffed in, not traditionally layered. Futons need to air out periodically and this one is like hauling a dead horse. It's over 80lbs and only sort of rolls into 1/3rds after about 6mo. They called it "lightweight" ... that is a lie. Super frustrating experience every time. As for comfort in my opinion, it's ok for back sleeping but too hard for side sleeping, so we put a 5" memory foam bed under it that we had. But at least it's firm enough that, if you're cosleeping, the baby doesn't roll into you. Although I like the natural cotton and wool, I wanted a futon not a mattress. I tried to return it, but a return costs as much as the mattress so in the end, I would have paid full price, but got nothing. So I kept it.

We're sorry this wasn't what you were expecting. Our 6" cotton and wool futon is built as a thicker, Western-style futon mattress, and it shouldn't have come across as a lightweight, traditional Japanese futon. Thank you for the feedback. We'll look into how we can make this clearer in the listing.
