April
I am incensed
I was involved in an accident on the 7th of September 2019, in short I (my vehicle) was struck by another. In 30-years of driving I"ve never had an accident or moving violation, albeit I was/am insured fully a part of what I pay for is "uninsured motorist coverage" in which I do not have to pay my deductible; the insurance I was shown by the person who hit me clearly showed "TEMPORARY" not valid after April 11 2019...we're in September. I called Clearcover immediately and there was no one to speak to as their office was closed, my first issue, so I had to submit my claim online. I had to wait Saturday-Sunday until anyone was available...and I had to call them. We are now in the middle of the month and my vehicle has not been repaired, I have a clear title, I have no payment, no information on the other party and was told "approval" would have to be given to waive my deductible EVEN if the other party is in fact uninsured; that constitutes outright fraud. Second, Littleton Group is who I've to speak to and Clearcover is just out of the loop. Needless to say, I am beyond incensed and have left a message with a Supervisor today by the name of Eddie Guerra, I've received no return call. After this I will be leaving Clearcover and returning to Allstate, my one lesson is don't get insured by a company that is not local. I'm also filing a BBB complaint. If the other party is not insured and Clearcover insist's I pay my deductible, again it's fraud and not subject to the approval of anyone and I will become litigious. I'd be remiss, if I didn't state upon my call earlier today I was also told that "approval" was needed to pay my claim.

Hi April, we are sorry to hear about your accident. We aim to provide an exceptional claim experience for all our customers and are sorry for this frustrating experience. There are two optional coverages if an uninsured driver is at-fault for an accident. If you have Collision coverage, you can also opt-in to have the Collision Deductible Waiver Coverage, which waives your deductible if you are involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist. Or a policyholder can have Uninsured Motorist Property Damage which provides coverage up to $3500 if an uninsured driver hits you. For either of these coverages to apply, it needs to be verified that the other driver doesn’t have insurance. In some instances, a driver may have just forgotten to replace their old card, hence why there is a validation process. We were glad to hear you connected with our Director of Claims, and a check was issued via 2-day shipping so you should have it soon. Our Claims Team will be in touch by the end of the day today with any updates for you. We appreciate your continued patience while we work to resolve your claim and get your vehicle back on the road.
