I found Citizen Shipper online. Went on their website put in the information needed to get a quote for transporting our puppy. Within minutes I bids from qualified people. Researched each prospect and picked a person we felt comfortable with. Safety Pet Travels was who we choose. Everything was smooth and now issues. Hassle free, yet competent process.

I had never used a service like this before. I received numerous replies with bids. There were several highly rated drivers, a lot of flexibility of date and time. All responses were professional courteous and informative. The only confusion I had was a time of payment I thought I was paying the fee of the bid and the app fee. I was only charged for the actual fee of the app and paid driver separately. I do not have enough words of praise with the driver that I chose. Overall everyone seemed very professional and prompt. I would highly recommend the app and the drivers that they have selected to be drivers. Beyond extremely satisfied with a service courtesy and professionalism with this shipping experience of 2 fur babies.

While my transporter gets 5 stars, I want to emphasize that not all transporters on the site are professional. I do not know where the disconnect arises, but I had a few bad experiences with potential shippers. Trust your gut and be aware that you cannot discuss anything like contact information or other specifics besides details on your pets transport and other surface information prior to booking with them. There are truly great people on the site who want to help you get your animals transported. Just do a little digging.

CitizenShipper is not doing a good job screening their drivers. For starters, the transporter who was hired to take a rescue dog to his forever home used a fake name on CitizenShipper. Then, according to ChitzenShippers' own Shipper Agreement and Terms of Use states 12. VIOLATION OF TERMS AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES (a) If Shipper posts Content that (3) that includes personal or identifying information about another person or entity without that person or entity's explicit consent, Shipper agrees to pay CitizenShipper.com one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each item of Content posted. And CitizenShippers' own Dispute Resolution Terms of Service - Parties’ Responsibilities states: By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using this Service, you will not: Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others. Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information. Well, that didn't stop the transporter that was hired off their site from posting my name and phone number on his public Facebook page without my consent. When I told the transporter I was unhappy with his services and would like to send out another transporter to pick up my dog (as he was late delivering my dog and I knew my dog would be out of food) I was met with a barrage of insults and profanity. CitizenShippers' transporter then used my dog as leverage to try to extort money for the release of my dog. By the end of the ordeal, this transporter drove the dog in the opposite direction of the adopters home and handed the dog over to a complete stranger. The dog finally arrived, but not after we endured a nightmare of stress as a result from this transporter who seemed to violate his fair share of contractual agreements with CitizenShipper.

Hello Ina, thank you so much for supplying me with the email used in the booking. To address the legal part of your complaint, "shipper" is a term used for the customer, not the driver, but I do agree that posting your information on his Facebook Page without your permission is a violation of privacy, if not the terms of the agreement. I am happy that the dog found its home and new owners with a minimum of trauma but I do apologize for your experience with the transporter. His account has been locked pending an investigation into his behavior and credentials. Locking an account means he is not able to message any customers, place any bids, or interact with any customers in any way. This is one of the many ways we ensure safety and compliance, as far as we are legally allowed. If you have submitted proof of the offensive behavior it is likely the driver will be permanently banned from the platform. I am so sorry you had to go through this. Citizenshipper is a RIPOFF. Paid deposit. Shipper bailed on me at the last minute - lost my deal to another buyer due to shipper incompetence. They keep saying they will be glad to refund my deposit when they respond to these complaints. Where are you??? Their phone number is a dead answering service that never mentions the name Citizenshipper. You are stain on Tyler, Texas and I am calling the Chamber of Commerce tomorrow. The BBB has been notified.

Hello Greg, after searching our records I see that your request was granted and you received your refund as well as an apology and an explanation that the driver would be locked while we investigated your claims against him. I would ask that you consider your evaluation of us since you got exactly what you asked for and there was a great deal of miscommunication and potential technical difficulties with reaching out to you. The BBB complaint was closed due to non-response from the claimant, according to the BBB. So as we have done all that you asked, please rethink your assessment of our business as a “ripoff.” At the very least, I hope that others reading this will understand that we do everything we are able to in order to make the customer experience better than expected.

First driver stole $350 of my money, second driver was amazing, CitizenShipper should screen better, offered no refund, just credit, like that does me any good
