Hidden fees, no protections

While the service was convenient, the hidden charges and lack of assistance with the payment aspect of the transaction is frustrating. You have to pay an absorbent fee ABOVE what you're quoted by a shipper and then handle the transaction through some payment application after. You're essentially buying a contact, that's it.

Hi James, I’m sorry you’ve experienced frustration with the system. We work hard to make the process as easy as possible and we do appreciate customer feedback to help us improve. I’m not sure what hidden charges you are referring to as before you check out with your chosen transporter, you see a fee that you will be charged and then confirm that you want to pay for the service. Nothing is charged to you that you are not made aware of before you pay it. The service fee list is available on our website, it is not hidden, but it is a long table and won’t easily fit into the bidding window, so it can be accessed from anywhere. To clarify what the fee to CitizenShipper actually provides: background checks, ID verification, verification of certificates such as USDA and Red Cross, marketing advertising, driver and customer support, and replying to reviews to explain or clarify misunderstandings. If you were to attempt this on your own, you’d have to pay for background checks on 3 or 4 people, you’d have to dig up reviews and hope they are valid, you’d have to check that they are in good standing with whatever insurance or certifications they claim to have, and you would spend hours to vet and choose a good driver. Our marketplace offers you a chance to save that legwork and cost by using our system to find the right situation. Utilizing the tools available on our platform will lead to the best outcome and if the worst should happen, we will do everything we can to help you out.
