Cigna is the worst insurance that I have ever had! The customer service is really really really bad: Onid Currc Baraji, Jonathan Fisher (Regional Managers), and Chloe Sherlock is most bullying.

I work in a Dental office as an…front office manager (20 yrs)
I work in a Dental office as an insurance biller. Employers, do not go with Cigna Dental. They hold up processing pre-treatment estimates. They delay sending out payment checks. The Cigna Dental insurance representatives do not know how to co-ordinate benefits or follow the regular co-ordination of benefits standards, or keep record of previous co-ordination of benefit statement from the insureds.

Poor customer service and difficult to make payments or check on medical files online
I have been with Cigna for the last 7 years and only going with them because they are much cheaper than my employers. The coverage is very poor. I have to pay around $6000 before they cover me for anything outside a yearly checkup.
Last year I waited at least 6 months to get my refund for overpayment. My income is highly volatile so it is difficult for me to know how much I will earn in a year that determines my payment per month. I have to pay monthly for the service and it increases if my income increases while I have to wait 6 months or more to get my checks.
Also to get new healthcare service I can speak to someone within 3-10 min, but when I have an issue such as a refund, I could be on for hours on the phone.
Right now I am on the phone for over 70 minutes and I can’t email anyone instead of being on hold.
When it comes to them making money they make it easy but hard to contact for anything else. This is poor business strategy and should be considered criminal.

I have been calling the Medicare part D…
I have been calling the Medicare part D drug plan for two days. Yesterday I waited 2 hours and hung up. I called a different Cigna number and a very nice customer service person called the number for me, she called me back after she waited for an hour with no answer. Today I have been waiting to talk to somebody for over an hour. Asking myself why would I renew my policy for 2022???

CIGNA - Quite Possibly One Of The Worst Insurance Companies
Quite possibly one of the worst insurance companies, I have Cigna PPO Preferred through my employer and pay extra for the higher tier. Well that doesn't mean anything, everything with Cigna is denied by their evaluating company "Evicore." My 18 year old son had an injury to his hip and saw an orthopedic who referred him to physical therapy, Cigna/Evicore denied it saying there was no medical necessity, after appeal was approved, co-pay was $600. My son was sent for an MRI, was originally denied and after appeal was approved, co-pay was $400. Multiple medications denied, not covered even after my physician sent in several requests for authorization. My wife has suffered from severe back pain and sees a pain management physician and gets epidural injections every 3-months, every time the physician submits for authorization, comes back denied and requires a peer-to-peer review, even after having documentation of her condition from multiple MRIs, orthopedic and neurosurgeon. Typical co-pay for an injection, $1,200. I work for a large medical device company and have submitted multiple complaints regarding Cigna asking to give employees another option besides Cigna. **If you have the choice of choosing another insurance provider besides Cigna do it, you will be extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service and coverage you receive.
**UPDATE: 10/30/2021**
Cigna continues to be the worst insurance company, after being contacted by Lance F. States sorry for denials but they have been because they requests don't meet Cigna's policy for treatment. This is what people need to know about Cigna, is your policies are to deny, deny and hope the member just gives up and does not seek further treatment. After talking to Lance F, this week regarding my healthy 19 year old son who was denied physical therapy for a sports related injury after recommendation for physical therapy by two orthopedic surgeons and physical therapist, I received a letter from American Specialty Health on 10/28/2021 notifying me they are approving 6 sessions of physical therapy--FIVE MONTHS AFTER IT WAS REQUESTED, FIVE MONTHS!!!! One of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen, Cigna should be embarrassed just sending that letter out. My wife's procedures still continue to be denied and are on appeal, even after 40+ pages of physician notes, multiple MRI and consultations with multiple pain management physicians, orthopedic spine and neurosurgery.
THIS is the kind of coverage you can expect with Cigna, have better coverage with Kaiser or any of the Blues. Don't be fooled by they hyped up "Cigna PPO Preferred," just a marketing ploy.

Tried to find out if Cigna would cover…
Tried to find out if Cigna would cover drugs at my local pharmacy. They ran me around to six different people, several of whom was foreigners that I couldn't understand. Finally I just told the person I was trying to understand that I would just stay with my BCBS plan. If their customer service is this bad I don't need to be with them.

Non-payment of Legitimate Claims
I have health insurance via my husband that allows for massage/physical therapies for up to 50/year without copay, referrals, MNRs needed. My husband verified the coverage with Cigna and selected an in-network massage therapy provider. My initial massage therapy for pain and spasms started in September 2019 that Cigna had no problem paying. Cigna denied my 19 claims from October 2019 thru January 2021. The claims were denied by Cigna’s partner, ASH Group, stating that the services requested are not medically necessary and do not support my plan of care.
Contrary to Cigna’s claims, massage therapy has provided relief and restored physical activity so I can go on with my daily life. Also, my massage therapy provider has recommended and provided Medically Necessary Review forms for all of my visits in question.
Cigna has still not paid for my legitimate claims, and the massage therapy provider will send me to collections for $1,045. As a result, I am not getting treatment for my condition, and this situation is causing me more stress.
