In the past 2 years I have gotten the following treatment for neck/back issues: 1. 3 months of physical therapy (which Cigna canceled bc when I felt like slight progress was being made, they canceled coverage of PT) 2. 4 months of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), uncovered by insurance. 3. Chiropractic/Acupuncture, uncovered by insurance. My left arm and hand has extreme pain/numbness recently, affecting my ability to work. When requesting a cervical/lumbar MRI to get to the bottom of it, Cigna has denied my request due to lack of supported treatment. They are a joke and don’t care for their customers in pain, yet they earn $1.6B in revenue a year. UPDATE: E-mailed the link Cigna provided and they sent me an automated message with a phone number to call- the generic hotline I have already called. They basically sent me into another loop. I received an automated call from Cigna this morning- 2 days before my appointment- letting me know they once again denied my claim. No indication as to why, so now I'm starting the process again. I reiterate- CIGNA IS AWFUL AND DOES NOT CARE. Update#2- My MRI resulted in 3 bulging Cervical discs and 2 lumbar discs. I had ‘moderately severe’ degenerate disc disease in my C6-7. Hence all the pain and symptoms I had initially- submitted a claim to Cigna for - now i ask they reimburse me for costs they should have initially covers. I will update accordingly.

Hi Eric. I'm so sorry for the delay you've experienced with the authorization request. Please email me at [email protected]. I would like to look into this for you and your provider. -CM
