Cigna is the worst. They authorised 8 physio sessions for my back issues and after completing them, they told me I own £650 because I exceeded a limit that nobody told me about. How can they approve a number of sessions that is going to exceed my annual limit without even telling me? THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

Cigna overruled my doctor’s recommendation for a medicine for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. We appealed and provided the info they requested. They upheld their decision and will not allow me to use the medicine I need. I got this plan through the Exchange and have concluded this plan is junk. It’s a way for Cigna to get my premiums while not providing the basic coverage that other plans have allowed. This is criminal.

I have had United Health Care and Blue cross blue shield and they were wonderful. I always felt good using my Insurance until I got Cigna. Now I HVe to fight constantly over claims due to incompetence in their customer service reps and claim processing. The latest is that I owe money to a medical group who has the claim on file but Cigna has LOST THE CLAIM! Lost it!!!! Can not find it anywhere for reprocessing under my name instead of my sons name. They mistakenly processed it under my sons name to begin with when he was JUST BORN AND IT SHOUKD HVE BEEN UNDER MY NAME. I HIT MY OUT OF POCKET MAX AND IT SHOUKD BE COVERED BUT THEY CONVENIENTLY LOST ALL RECORD OF THIS CLAIM. I have never ever had so much trouble with insurance as I HVe since getting Cigna. I am looking for a new job just to get away from them. They are the worst.

Please stay away from this company as they have the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. My review is based on a private insurance with Cigna Thailand, but I believe that this must be a bigger issue. Over two years I made only four small outpatient claims of insignificant value. Two of them were approved, but the money was never payed out. I tried to follow up with them every month over six months, but with no success. I have one of the most expensive plans that they offer. Here are some of my experiences with them: - Even though the claims are approved, they don't pay them out. When you try to follow up you get nowhere.
 - Customer service just listens to you, but they never follow up or take action. 
- It's impossible to get in touch with them, and you never get answers to your emails
 - It's really expensive, but you don't get a better product 

 On the bright side 

I am very happy that I did not have to make a bigger or more serious claim while being insured by them. 

I heard that Chubb is managing Cigna Thailand, so I would stay away from them as well.

Sent them a paper check to pay my premium for January on December 21st. They still haven’t processed it as of January 9th. I called them on December 30th to ask where my check is. The customer service rep I spoke to could not tell me where my check is. She put me on hold every time I asked a question. I asked if I’m covered for January if the payment is processed after January 1st. The rep said I have a three month grace period to pay my premium. It is now the 9th of January. Check still has not been processed. I got an email over the weekend saying that payment has not been received and they have suspended pharmacy services. The email says my policy will be terminated if payment isn’t received. Called Cigna again today. Sat on hold three times. Finally got a customer service representative who transferred my call to the Healthcare Marketplace when I asked for a supervisor. Called Cigna back and got another rep who transferred me to the billing department. After another hold I got a billing rep who repeated the three month grace period nonsense, couldn’t track down my check and said if I wanted to make immediate payment I would have to either do an EFT online or pay with a debit card (which I don’t have). I had to make an EFT once before when they were slow to process a check payment. The paper check I sent then suddenly turned up and was processed five days later. Not sure what I’m going to do now. I don’t want to give them access to my bank account. Need insurance and thought Cigna had a good reputation. Had them when I was working (am retired now but don’t yet qualify for Medicare). Sadly the insurance marketplace doesn’t give you many alternatives. No wonder no one likes to deal with insurance companies!

Cigna started the year off by dropping the pharmacy I regularly go to, when I went to pick up my prescriptions, I had to leave without one of them due to the new 800$ dollar price tag attached to it. Now they are saying they are dropping Centura health from their network. Doesn't sound like a big deal, except when you consider Centura has the biggest trauma center in my city, if you get in a car accident, your going to a Centura facility, that's where the ambulance is taking you. Now if you live, you will be left holding the bill, if not, your family gets it. What's the point of even having insurance?

Bedrövligt företag. Får inget försäkringsbrev eller något annat dokument, har ingen webbplats, ingen Min sida, ingen info om vad ens försäkring gäller. Har haft dem i flera år och fortfarande aldrig någon kontakt/brev. Nu skulle jag äntligen använda mig av försäkringen, givetvis gäller den inte för "min sorts sjukhusvistelse", som jag trott i alla år. UNDVIK.

Please offer a zero stars choice for next time. One star is WAY too inflated for the "service" Cigna provides. I was told to immediately go to the closest emergency room by our employee clinic. So i followed their directions. Asked at ER when presenting my card to be sure it was preauthorized. I was having my first bout of diverticulitis and was in severe pain, couldn't have a bowel movement. Chills, fever, doubled over in pain and eventually fell asleep in the ER. They called me back and did all my vitals. Asked me when my last period was. I said I don't know, maybe 2 years ago. I've reached menopause. So they gave a me a pregnancy test that I didn't know about until I got the bill. Then i got a CT scan. (Medical blue book cost is $300 for a CT scan). I was in the ER for 4 hours. Saw an in network doctor for about 5 minutes. Received my bill for $14,000. One $200 charge was covered for the in network doctor consult. I was charged full ER price for everything else. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for a pregnancy test for a menopausal woman. TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a CT scan. And then other little charges here and there. I filed a thorough appeal and of course it was denied. Called dozens of times for help and kept getting told it was out of network and not preauthorized even though it was. Finally 3 days before the deadline to file a second appeal I spoke with a woman who said it should have been enhanced in network and it wasn't coded correctly. I asked her to help me get it filed and she agreed. About 40 minutes into the phone call we got disconnected. I tried to call back immediately but couldn't get through. Gave the operator the previous ladies name and she said she would email her and have her return my call. That never happened. I kept calling but couldn't get to the person helping me. So after I was told it needed to be redone and enhanced as in-network, the call dropped and it never got done because I couldn't locate the previous person who was helping me. Now I'm receiving calls daily from collections but I will not pay my bill until they figure out how to do their job. On top of that they wouldn't apply any money towards the deductible so they said I had to pay off the$14000 before any amount could be applied to the deductible. So that Max Out of Pocket number is a big lie because they can deny any claim. I've filled 3 claims in the last 2 years and every single charge was denied the first time. Fast forward to 2022. Hurt my back. Laid up for a month because Cigna wouldn't approve an appointment with a neurosurgeon because I've already had 2 back surgeries. They denied that appointment because they said I needed to see my primary care physician first. This happened in September and my PCP was booked out till January. Cigna didn't care. They declined all appointments. Four days later I ended up in the ER. I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days. So what should have been a simple appointment turned into a $22000 charge. So when Cigna denies a claim its likely because they're using premiums to pay for a $22000 error that could have cost them one appointment with neuro. Good job Cigna. Way to spend our hard earned money wisely. With a $4000 deductible, Cigna is still claiming I owe them $12,000 after negotiations. They can eat this one. We pay for a service. When you don't receive the service you paid for, they're not getting another penny from me because it is CIGNAs debt to pay.
